ALABAMA LOCK & KEY CO

I moved into a new home and needed to have 2 doorknobs replaced, 3 doors rekeyed and a deadbolt installed. Alabama Lock and Key charged me an excessive $805.50. It took them several weeks to come back to complete the job after ordering parts and then only after repeated phone calls. My advice is that if you insist on using this company, get a firm quote up front.

It was done in a short time, and I was given two keys to the new lock.

On the phone, we were quoted the fixed price of $85 TOTAL, but to add insult to injury, the serviceman ADDED $25 to the invoice and tried to collect $110-- saying the $85 was for the service call alone, plus an extra $25 for "all the work he did."  The $85 was ridiculous enough, considering all he did was squirt oil in the lock, but he tried to take us for even more.  I argued him back down to $85 and then called the office the next day, and they confirmed that the technician was wrong in overcharging us. Meanwhile, I wonder who else he is trying to gouge...

Did not arrive as advertised, however, it was supposedly due to a vehicle problem.  Did stay in touch though and make arrangements to arrive late that afternoon.  Did not have a system to replace the hardware back into the same doors from which it came thus a couple of the door hardware did not refit as previously.  Have already had to replace one of the locks that was changed.  Probably would try to find a different company should I have to have any lock work done in the future.

Two people arrived at 5:30 pm, finished at 6:05 pm and the total charge was $170.00. The lock was "frozen" with dirt and dried oil as it was not frequently used.  Granted, I can't do what they did, but that exceeded what I expected to spend by far.  I'll shop around next time.  I chose them because they are  near-by and I know that they've helped others in our neighborhood.

They do everything such as lock, alarms, monitoring. No problems with them. They looked into everything after we were robbed.

They did a great job and they showed up when they said they would, and it worked out really great. They are a very professional company and the locksmith was friendly and polite. He did the job quickly and left.

They did a great job and they are a fine company. Actually, they wound up driving to Birmingham, because I needed the locks done that day, so they went out of their way. They were very efficient and they did everything I wanted done, in a timely manner. I've had no problems with them at all.
