5 Star Roofing & Restoration

The crux of my complaint involves uncompleted work by 5 Star. I entered into an agreement with them May 26, 2021 for a complete roof replacement on 3 structures on my property (main house, carriage house, and detached garage). The remaining work to be completed includes the following: 1. Flashing around my chimneys. They left the old flashing around each stack on just two sides. They replaced the flashing everywhere else but didn't even touch the chimney stacks, leaving the old rusted flashing in place. They expect me to get that done by another subcontractor now? 2. Rain diverter leaks. On 10/14/2021, they extended the length of the rain diverter they installed on my main house's roof. It is leaking at the seam and needs to be fixed. 3. Flashing under gables. They installed new roofing shingles under my gables and didn't replace the flashing. They left the old flashing in place. As a consequence, there are sections where flashing isn't even present which will cause premature erosion and wood rot down the road. 4. Sagging garage. There's a specific area on my detached garage where the new roof is sagging. I'm not sure if that's from the lack of proper decking underneath or not. But, it's definitely something that needs to be addressed at 5-Star. Though I've asked many times over several weeks for someone at 5 Star to contact me about completing these simple fixes, communication with their upper echelon from any supervisory level has been non-existent. Even their Mobile, AL based manager "Brandi(?)" has ceased communication with me on these problems. Additionally, the collection tactics that 5-Star has used in my case are absurd. I paid them in full on 11/9/2021 as evidenced by an invoice they provided showing a zero balance. However, between their 10-Day Final Payment email request from Carla Chamblee (dated 11/3/2021) and Kayla Alexander's letter (dated 11/4) showing where she filed a property lien on my house, I feel like I was coerced and pressured into paying 5-Star in full even though the work listed above on my roof was not fully completed yet. How could they send me an email stating I had 10 days to pay (expiring 11/14/2021) while simultaneously filing a lien on my property? Be aware of the lengths 5 Star will go through getting final payment from a customer that is still owed time, materials, and labor to complete the job they set out to perform and was contracted to complete. Now I'd like to know when the remaining work on my roof will be addressed? That's all. I can't get anyone at 5 Star to answer me which has prompted multiple actions with the BBB, Alabama Attorney General, & social media such as this.
