"Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint submitted by Ms. Mary Jones regarding the sod installation project completed at her residence located at 150 Willow Brook Dr, Bessemer, AL. At Olympus Landscape & Perfections LLC, we take pride in our professionalism, workmanship, and long-standing positive reputation with clients and platforms like Angi’s List. We have successfully completed thousands of landscaping projects and have always maintained a commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction. Project Overview: On March 27, 2025, per our signed contract, we began a sod installation project which included: Proper grading of the property to bare dirt Removal of debris Application of lime, topsoil, and new sod fertilizer Installation of five pallets of sod and one pallet of Z-52 Zoysia sod We followed all agreed-upon steps and used sod from a reputable supplier. Upon completion, detailed aftercare instructions were provided to Ms. Jones, emphasizing the importance of proper watering—especially during the first few weeks—to ensure healthy root establishment and minimize weed growth. Regarding the Complaint: Two weeks post-installation, Ms. Jones contacted us about weeds growing in the yard. I personally assured her that the work was completed according to industry standards. While I did not find fault in our service, and despite clear contract terms stating that we cannot guarantee sod survival due to aftercare and environmental factors, I offered a gesture of goodwill and paid for her initial weed care service to help resolve her concerns. Contract Terms and Clarification: As per the signed agreement: The contractor is not liable for sod failure caused by improper aftercare or environmental conditions. Warranties do not cover issues resulting from factors beyond our control. This situation is deeply unfortunate, but it does not reflect a failure in service. It is the only complaint I have received in my years of service and membership on Angi’s List. I remain committed to professional excellence and believe this response will help clarify the facts and protect the integrity of my business.
