Fireplace and chimney need extensive work before functional.

Absolutely fabulous service! Gave is an appointment to (not a block of time), arrived on time, polite, friendly, professional...I can not think of enough positive adjectives! It was a little costly, but worth the service. The technician had to blowout the dryer vent, and he fixed some faulty installation (without extra cost). He also replaced a elbow joint because they accidentally broke one (it is something we would not have noticed, but he was honest about it, and I so appreciate honesty). Definitely going to use them again.

Very well so far...a little pricey but we've had the house since 1988 and the fireplace works-but it fills the house with smoke.  So far, I'm impressed with Top Hat.  The jury's still out on the final product which will be a working, functioning fireplace.

Since it was already and quot;coldand quot; weather here in Auburn, they were booked up 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Upon inquiry, they replied that they would not schedule an emergency or expedited appointment, so we waited a few weeks for the date as specified. The technician arrived in costume (a top hat and cape), and went to work. He was cordial. He was neat and well-spoken. He worked from the fireplace end and worked from the roof to clean and inspect. He was done in about two hours. When he was done, the fireplace was clean, and everything was perfectly neat and returned to it's place.

I was provided a printed report of the inspection, and a quote for the damper repair. When I asked about the video of the inspection as previously described, the technician told me that the video was and quot;live onlyand quot;, and not recorded, but that a few screen-shots had been saved and that those could be emailed to me as well as the electronic report.

Although the quoted damper repair cost was high, I was willing to pay extra to have the damper problem solved and finished, and further asked when that could be accomplished. I was told that the office would call me back that afternoon. Since I did not receive a call as promised, I called the office and was told they would call me the next day. After another failed effort to get an answer, we gave up and rode out the holidays without resolution.

We never received the promised email or estimate of when they could effect the repair.

Trent arrived when promised and took just about the amount of time estimated. He was very professional in his manner and in the work he performed. When he finished he said he would email the invoice along with recommendations for further work that might be necessary. The company apparently had computer trouble and I did not receive an invoice until September 9. I had been assured by both the person who scheduled the work and by Trent that there would be a discount for multiple jobs at the same address (I own a four-plex). When I finally received an invoice, there was no discount given. I sent a quick email back asking about it and was immediately given an adequate discount. Would definitely use this company again and I also would recommend them.

Outstanding service provided by Trent. He was very professional and informative. I will definitely have this company return and clean my dryer vents out again as well as recommend this company to my neighbors.
$220 is cheap if you consider neglecting to clean dryer vent can burn the house down!

There was way more work than expected but he didn't charge us more. We gave him a big tip.

They also replaced a piece of my fireplace one time. They are prompt and polite. Sometimes, it is tough to get a schedule but that is because they are good. They clean up like crazy. There is never any kind of debris anywhere. They are professional. You should use this this guy.

He also does chimney caps and repairs. We bought our insert from them and they put it in. It was an older house and it needed a liner and they did all that. They are great.

We purchased gas logs from Top Hat several years ago. We have a yearly cleaning and maintenance visit to maintain a warranty. Top Hat always calls me to remind me of my appointment and is there when they say they will be. They keep my house clean when they visit and clean up when they leave.
