Nature's Oasis Animal Hospital

I took Minnie to see Dr. Twyla Floyd because she was having dental problems. I had called Dr. Floyd prior to the appointment and explained in detail, the issues Minnie was having. I expected a thorough examination of her teeth, which Dr. Floyd did not do. She did look at Minnie's gums and said they looked red. She prescribed homeopathic remedies, which she said would help the inflammation. I asked Dr. Floyd how much she would charge to clean Minnie's teeth and she did not ever give me an answer. Dr. Floyd seemed very disorganized and preoccupied. When I was given the bill for the exam, I was shocked. She charges about 3 times what a other veterinarians charge. When I commented on the charge, she told me that she is "educating" me while she is examining the animal. She did not do anything to educate me. She did confirm what I already knew as far as diet and dental problems. The exam she provided was not thorough. Of course, she did want to see me again but I could not get any information from her regarding charges and procedures. I did give Minnie the remedies that she prescribed but those did not resolve the issues. I expected the doctor to tell me how to resolve the current dental problems and how to prevent future issues. Dr. Floyd did not do either of those things. I ended up taking her to another vet for proper dental work. Minnie is fine now and I have her on a preventive routine. I would not recommend Dr. Twyla Floyd or Nature's Oasis Animal Hospital.
