WARNING – WARNING – WARNING King Honda’s Service department is extremely incompetent. This is not the place to get your car serviced if you like your car and it is running reasonably well then do not take it to King Honda Auburn-Opelika. It will not be returned to you in as good of condition as when you left it with them. Being new to Auburn and thinking that the Honda dealership would be a good place to establish service for my car, I made an appointment at King Honda to have the oil changed and tires rotated and balanced. I had to wait three days for the available appointment time. I left the car there in plenty of time for my 8:30 a.m. appointment and asked them to call when it was ready to pick up. Thinking it strange that I had not received a call by noon, I called to check and was told that they were very busy and hadn’t gotten to my oil change yet. An hour before closing time, I still hadn’t heard anything and since I was going out of town the next day, I called and was again told that the car was not ready. I told the service manager that I was coming to pick up the car because I was going out of town and would be there within 30 minutes. When I arrived, I was told that the oil had been changed, tires rotated, and the power window part had been replaced. I said I didn’t ask for or authorize a part replacement. They said it was a recall item so they went ahead and replaced it while it was there for the oil change. On the way home I discovered that the power window did not operate correctly and the auto feature no longer worked. I called and there was no answer. The next day I called and explained the problem and was told that it would be investigated and I would receive a call back. Never received a call back. The next week when I was back in town, I called and was told by the same service department manager that they had installed the correct part and nothing could be done about the lost functionality. I explained that I did not authorize the change and they shouldn’t have changed parts that removed the auto window feature without my authorization. With no resolution, he offered to have his manager call me back. I said that would be great because they cannot leave me with a window that no longer worked as it should because of a wrong part or wrong installation. Never received a call from the manager. Final solution was that I went elsewhere to have the window properly fixed because King Honda Service department doesn’t know how to do the job properly and seem to be in business to pad their income by doing unnecessary work and charging the customer and Honda for their incompetent efforts. No way am I carrying my car back to that place (even to fix the problem they created) because I don’t trust them. This is the worst kind of car service, a dishonest one that breaks things so that you have to keep coming back to give them more money. Well, I will never fall for that again.

John was very attentive and helpful. Nice waiting area including one room that is quiet (i.e. no t.v.). Free wifi available, so I brought my laptop and worked while they did the job. They were done before I was. They do not do bodywork, which is too bad, but I will certainly use them for service.
Online reservation system a little slow, but I think I caught it when the person responsible was out of the office unexpectedly.

First technician denied there was a problem (difficult to turn van at low speeds). Second technician drove with my spouse and agreed that steering wasn't working correctly. The delay was frustrating. Once repair completed, van has worked fine.
