YellowHammer Did An Awesome Job!!!!!!

We had storm damage to our roof and decided to use Yellowhammer to replace our roof. I don't recommend them. The only Yellowhammer employee that will show up is the salesman. They sub-contract the work out to various crews and it is apparently the luck of the draw on how good the crew is. Our neighbors used them at around the same time and their roof looks great. It took them two days to do our installation. The first day, they stripped our old roof and then left us overnight without any roof covering. The next morning was foggy and we had a lot of condensation on the roof deck. Some of that water then dripped through and stained our living room ceiling. When I contacted them, they said let's observe it for a few weeks and make sure the new roof is not leaking. Once it was established that it was not leaking, their idea was not to repair my ceiling, but to attempt to contact my insurance company and claim it was storm damage. They showed up with the wrong color drip edge (my neighbors also got the wrong color) and the installation was not professional looking. The installation of the shingles was also done with a less than professional look (uneven edges, curled shingles, gaps between ridge shingles etc.). I had plastic strips sticking out from under the shingles all over. They did a less than stellar job of clean up and even left tools behind. I had them install ridge vents and they left a mess in my attic. I supposedly had the option of keeping my turban vents, and I chose to keep them, but they removed them anyway. I contacted them and they did come back and repair some of the work, but I still have plastic strips sticking out and my ceiling has not been repaired. I feel as though I will now have to pay more money for a third party inspector to come out and see if the installation is properly done. I will update the review if/when my ceiling gets repaired and they return to finish cleaning up the little plastic strips. Edit: Yellowhammer sent the same guys that installed the roof back for their second attempt at fixing the deficiencies in their install. Luckily, I was able to leave work early and catch the guys before they left. After a brief glance at the roof, I could still see plastic strips sticking out. I had to stop the guys from leaving and literally point things out to them. One of the installers even had the nerve to act like I was inconveniencing him by having him come back a second time to fix the roof. So far, they have repaired issues that I can easily spot from the ground, but the entirety of my roof is not visible from the ground, so I have no confidence that there aren't issues on the places I can't see. Since the owners comment that " they will do anything possible to fix my concerns", I have not been contacted by them. I wish they would send someone out to audit the installer's work. If they think that this is acceptable, then I invite them to take pictures and use them as examples of the "quality" that you can expect from Yellowhammer. They still have not fixed my living room ceiling. I will update if anything changes.

We worked with Jody Watkins from Yellowhammer and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful through the entire process. He and his supervisor (name escapes me) walked me through every task that would be done, why it needed to be done and how my insurance would or would not cover it. They even helped me translate the claim paperwork from my insurance agency into something I could understand. Only hiccup we had was how the spread of nails expanded into our neighbors yard. One call to Jody and the team was back out running magnets over theirs and our yards and driveways to make sure the got as many as they could. The insulation install was also done well with Jody ensuring everything met our standard of satisfaction. Bottom line is we would highly recommend Jody and the Yellowhammer team for any of your roofing or insulation needs. If we end up needing any more Jody will be who we call.

They advice received from Yellowhammer regarding our complex roof was very good and the plan for the roof was carried out professionally. The contact was very good about communicating with me regarding schedule, supplies, etc. The problem came in for the contracted metal work. This guy did not respect Yellowhammer or his customers, didn't order supplies, didn't get receipt of supplies or delivery, etc. Didn't communicate with Yellowhammer either. I suggest Yellowhammer get a contract with someone in our area who wants the work. But the work performed by the Metal group has been good so far.

My salesman was Mike Healy. I found them to be the most responsive of the 3 roof companies I was looking at. They also worked with the insurance company to make sure there were no issues in the claims process. I could not be happier.

04/07/2017 Representative named John C. evaluated and met us...then he later met with our insurance adjuster to point out each item that he felt needed to be addressed. He also took the time to help file our claim, on phone, with our insurance company so that we didn't have to do it alone. He stepped up to the plate and made us feel very secure during the entire process. He also agreed to personally take our damaged window screens (holes from hail) and replace the mesh and reinstall so that we wouldn't have to do it ourselves. Overall, his kindness and professionalism were on point and I highly recommend their serves. Roof looks amazing! Ask for John...he will work hard for you.

After the first consult, merry band of Mexican's showed up. Illegals, all of them. Owner fessed up to it, he said he was going to lose his workers after the immigration act.
They did a half way decent job on the roof, I thought. Until I had to have my gutters replaced as they were chock full of roofing tiles and roofing nails apparently. Picked up nails out of the yard and driveway for months.
I'm lucky I didn't get sued for injury from nails when I contacted a contractor for the gutters. He came around the corner with an armful after sticking his hand down in a gutter, wanting to show me what came out and why the gutters were not working.
Would I use them again? How about no.

Response from Yellowhammer Roofing Inc
"Yellowhammer Roofing would like to apologize for any inconveniences the homeowner might have had during and after our install. This is the first the office has been notified of any problems concerning any issue, if the homeowner would have contacted us after the install in 2011 we would have been happy to come back out and reinspect the yard and gutters for any loose nails. If the homeowner would like, we would still be happy to come back out and provide that service. As far as our crews, Yellowhammer Roofing uses crews that are licensed by the state and insured. Yellowhammer Roofing also issues a 5 year warranty on all roofs installed, backed 100%. Again, if the homeowner would like us to come back out for the nail issue, we would be more than happy to provide that service. Thank you!"

I had talked to Michael Dorne (Yellowhammer) about my need to coordinate the replacement of my roof in conjunction with spraying open cell foam insulation in my attic. This meant that they had to work with Synergy Airflow and Ventilation to coordinate all activities to occur in the same timeframe and to coordinate the closing off of the attic to make it conditioned air.
Michael and Will Jones (Yellowhammer)  knew and had previously worked with Synergy Airflow. This made the coordination effort much easier.
Both crews came out in a staggered format to complete ALL the activities within a couple of days. I couldn't have been happier.
I was so happy with working with Michael (& Yellowhammer) that I had them come out and look at a roof leak I was experiencing at another home I owned. They gave me a bid, I said yes and they quickly corrected the problem.
Roof work is hard and prone to many different hazards and problems. Reparing a roof can often be more difficult that replacing it. All that you can ask for is that they do the best job that they can. It hasn't leaked since the repair and I am very happy with the result.
In both cases, when Yellowhammer completed the job the cleanup was complete as if they hadn't even been there. This is a real bonus extra.

I contacted the insurance company (USAA) and filed a claim. They sent a team out to inspect. USAA approved the roof.

Yellowhammer rep John was very helpful explaining the process and what to expect. Even informed me of a GAF "Roof for Troops" program that gave me a $300.00 refund for using GAF products. I was leaning towards GAF Timberline architectual shingles anyway.

Large crew showed up to do the work. It took them 3/4 of a day to tearoff and replace the roof. I had no issues with the crew and John periodically came by to check on the work.

I had several estimates, all within $1,000.00 of each other. I chose Yellowhammer because they were more engaged with me and periodically checked in with me. I am satisfied with thier work and would call on them again.

Poor Communication throughout the process, felt pressured to sign a contract before they would even consider helping us with the insurance.  Due to the low amount the insurance company paid they cheapened the product delivered

They were efficient and completed the work within one day, and they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.  However, the only problem was that the man with whom I originally dealt wasn't on site much which created some minor problems during the work.

YellowHammer roofing came out and looked at my roof to determine if there was hail damage.
The Damage was confirmed and the inspector wrote up a proposal. We contacted our insurance company
and they sent out an adjuster who also inspected our roof and CONFIRMED the damage and approved the written proposal
which Yellowhammer has submitted. The Yellowhammer inspector Also came out the same time as the insurance adjuster to answer any questions.
A week later we had a check from the insurance and we scheduled the work to be done.
On the morning scheduled, the Inspector from YellowHammer came out to check on the progress of the work.
The roofing crew was fantastic! These guys just flat KNEW what they were doing and got it done!
The roofing crew cleaned up the old shingles and hauled everything away.
We love our new roof!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YELLOWHAMMER ROOFING!
