Left large limb stuck high in a side tree which is a safety issue.. Did not cut one of the trees he was supposed too. Said job would take a day and a half, finished in less in a day and my wife paid before I got home. Immediately let him know he missed a tree which he then claimed it wasn't priced (even though the tree he didn't cut I had specifically asked him what type of tree it was when I was showing him the trees I wanted cut). Later tried to justify by saying one of the trees was difficult to cut, which I'm sure it was, but that doesn't excuse not cutting all the trees. He also claimed they hit wire in a tree so they didn't cut to ground level. I could find know signs wire although I have seen wire nailed to some of the trees, but shouldn't have prevented cutting at ground level.
Finally after some debate, offered to pay most of the cost of a tree climber (he claims he pays a climber $350, I offered to pay $300. This wouldn't have paid his time to come back but it would have kept him from having to pay much out of his picket for his help Plus he had already said the job should take a day and a half, so he should have counted 2 days of help already, so I feel we went above and beyond trying to be fair to get the issue resolved.. He didn't show up the week promised. Later I offered to pay the full cost of tree climber if he'd cut a small tree close by so he wouldn't be out any out of pocket for his worker. No response.
Gave one more chance after Holidays to make right and he has not answered texts or calls since. Would give an "F" rating, but he did do good work in the past, something must have went wrong in his business but would no longer recommend. Will be happy to provide photo of large limb left high in the tree if anyone would like to see the work.
