The work took about six weeks to complete.  Though John is not quick his work is exceptional in quality.  He plays attention to details and will work with you to make sure the end result is exactly what you want.  He contracts with experienced craftsmen and they were all very pleasant to the family.  The only two points I would mention is the tile person is just that; a tile person.  Do not expect an artisan.  If you want the tiles laid in an order other than the order that they are stacked in the box you should lay them out before the tile person starts and  explain up front that you expect a specific pattern.  This is probably common practice and just ignorance on our part. However, John had the tile person redo some of the work at no extra charge.  Also, the plummer reworked some of our pluming to accommodate changes with new faucets and re-positioning the sinks.  He took the copper and replaced it with Pex Pipe which is fine. However, he did not give us the option of keeping the copper.  We would have liked to have kept it as we are borderline hoarders.
Overall we are very pleased with John's work and we have started phase two of our home improvement with him - Hardwoods and kitchen remodel.  He is estimating phase three - front porch.  I highly recommend John Mayhall/Building Bama.
