Professional Services Unlimited

Description of Work: The above mentioned company, owned by Leroy and Diana Symbol, was contracted to paint the interior and exterior of my new home by my builder, Homes by Randall, in 2004. I filed a complaint about their services with the Better Business Bureau of Alaska on 10/27/2005. Despite several attempted contacts by the BBB, the company did not respond to any of their inquiries. I do not know if the Symbols continue to do business under this name or not but I wanted to add this to Angie's List anyway. This is a copy of the complaint I filed with the BBB of Alaska: I had a new home built in 2004 around the Butte area out of Palmer, Alaska. Professional Services Unlimited is the company that painted the inside of the house. I had many complaints about the paint job throughout the process. I met with Diana Symbol (Professional Services Unlimited), the builder (Homes by Randall), the realtor (Larry Ficek, Remax of Wasilla) and Mr. Williams (Sherwin Williams representative). We met at my home and I was assured that the defects I noted in the paint job would "disappear over the next 6 to 12 months as the paint had a chance to cure." The twelve months have passed and the defects are still as noticeable now as they were when I first complained about them. I have had other professional painters come out to look at the job to make sure that I have a legitimate comlaint. After looking at the inside of the house, Steve Lovely from Lovely and Son Painting gave me an estimate of $6900.00 to fix the inside paint job. He gave me a written list of the problems, "Not enough primer was used to maintain a good coverage, two coats should have been used, also not enough finish coats throughout the home. This has caused dry spots. Also the paint was not evenly applied throughout the home." As I've stated, I have been unsatisfied with the job since it was finished. My dissatisfaction has been well known by everyone involved. I have spoke with Larry Ficek on numerous occassions about this and have also emailed him in the past. I was so dissatisfied with Professional Services Unlimited that I did not choose to use them to paint the exterior of my home. I have waited until now to file my complaint to ensure that I gave the paint a chance to "cure" as I was told. I am also upset with the fact that Diana Symbol told me that her company painted "all of Hall's Quality Homes in his new subdivision." I called and spoke with Hall's representative to see if they had had any similar problems and was told they had never used Professional Services Unlimited and did not even know who LeRoy and Diana Symbol were. When I told Larry Ficek, the realtor about my discovery he also stated he had been surprised to hear Diana say that as he knew that Hall did not use their services. I have tried to get resuls by dealing directly with Professional Services Unlimited in the past but have been unable to resolve the issues. I am asking for your help to do so. I want to have the amount needed to have my home re-painted by another painting company. I do not want the work done by Professional Services Unlimited as I feel they are not qualified to perform the job.
