I had permits and everything in that but he did not want to follow the permits and he's very argumentative. By the time we fired him, he was extremely argumentative to the point that I was very scared. He was verbally abusive. It was a very sloppy work, I had to keep pointing out things to him for quality work and at the last point, the day he got fired was over a window he put in the wrong place. We had blueprints, to make it simpler for him is to put where this window went and he said, "Well, everybody always put the window in the middle of the wall." I told him, "That's not where the blueprints say it goes, this is where the window is supposed to be." Then he goes, "I don't care, if you want me to move it, it's going to cost you another $425." There were quite a few other things that he kept telling me he needs to fix and that they weren't correct. He's always saying, "I've had 30 years in the construction build of business and you have what?" I was the one dealing with him all the time because my husband have a full-time job, by the time we fired him, he was calling me names. I've said it to the Better Business Bureau but I haven't heard back from them. He just packed up his stuff and then I said I'm not going to pay him for this part and I was paying him as we went. If he'd completed the task, I paid him that because we had a line-by-line thing and he would try to say like put in a sub-floor. All the screws were not pushed with the floor, there were quite a few that were up to the point in which you walk across the floor and you would kick screws and trip. I had a wall that was so crooked which is very obvious. You could look down the wall and there was like a 2 inch jaw in a wall with the stud and everything in. I totally have to fix that and he was like, "We're going to get to that." Before he fix it, he wanted me to pay to have that wall put up. He had one wall that was 13 inches off from where it was supposed to be. Luckily I got out with only having paid him like $10,000. But still $10,000 is a lot of money and  there was things that I paid him for that I shouldn't have but I was intimidated by him. He was such a bully. The initial bid was good but with all the add-on that he kept adding on, then it wasn't good. I advice everybody not to hire him, he's definitely a scam artist.
