I don't have the expertise to assess the quality of the work performed (that is, how well sealed the wall is), but they appeared to choose appropriate materials and apply them properly. The negative experience I had with the company concerns pricing. I asked them to itemize their bid of $4500, and they broke it down by $1500 labor, $1000 equipment, $1000 materials, $500 mobilization, $500 GO/A. During the site visit, they mentioned many possibilities for needed work that might be identified during the job, and the job was characterized as taking at least one very long day, or very likely two days. In that scenario, the pricing seemed like it might be reasonable. As it turned out, when they arrived on the job, it was clear that they intended to be in and out by 5 pm, because they had another job that evening. They spent about 4 hours actually working on-site, with additional time for transit, lunch, and swapping out faulty equipment. The excavator that they rented turns out to have cost them $350, so they marked this up by about 3x--ouch. Also, the materials that they used were about $300--again, about a 3x mark-up. Of course, I had already agreed to the bid price, so it's my fault for committing to what turned out to be very overpriced work. I do find fault with the owner for misrepresenting the cost of the equipment. He looked me in the eye and said it cost them $1000 to rent the excavator, a John Deere 50G from Airport Equipment Rentals--not true, hence the D for professionalism. I hope that the sealing job will hold up, but I certainly would not hire this company again as my experience tells me that they will overprice a bid and then minimize the work done and time spent. I respect the need of a company to make money, but the mark-up on equipment and materials here is quite excessive, considering the other line-item values in the bid. I approached the company about the possibility of a partial refund, due to the job having turned about to be short and the actual equipment and materials cost low, but they were not interested--they pointed out that I accepted the price of the bid, which I did...my mistake in being too trusting! GCI requires that you use their equipment (works fine, but if you have specialized wireless equipment you may not be able to use it...we had to purchase additional equipment to match what they use, but for most people this won't be an issue). We weren't especially impressed when we picked up the equipment from the store...the girl behind the desk seemed to have better things to do than waste time with customers and we had to go back because the bag of equipment was missing a power cord. My phone interactions with customer service have all been good. I've called several times; never waited more than a few minutes (if at all), they were usually very helpful, and always pleasant...far better tech/cust support than I've seen in most of the lower 48 (based upon experiences in 6 different states). One thing to note--as we aren't from around here--was that the service isn't unlimited...you can probably use their tools to make a pretty good guess as to how much you need each month. However, if you use something like Netflix, you'll want to go online with Netflix and adjust the quality so that it isn't streaming HD (otherwise you get a nice, shocking bill your first month around). To GCI's credit, they credited us the overage fees and helped us adjust to a better plan. After 5 months we are discontinuing service due to a move. Our new home isn't serviced by GCI or I would likely continue with them. Bottom line: despite the negative reviews I've seen, I had a good experience and would go with them again (of course, around here you might not have much choice anyway). If we had to have any more done we would call them. We read up on different ones on Angie's List and also the equipment he used, he could get in the backyard without removing any of our fence. This is what stood out about them. Most definitely will use them again.

FAQs for playground equipment service projects in Juneau, AK
The average cost of playground equipment installation is around $500, and most homeowners pay between $330 and $700, excluding the cost of the playground equipment itself. Your total project cost will depend on site preparation requirements, playset size, design complexity, number of accessories, and the swing set materials. Don’t forget to account for the cost of playground surfacing, which can cost between $15 to $160 per cubic yard or $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.
It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.
Rubber mulch is widely considered the best material to place under a playset. This material option provides more cushioning than traditional wood mulch for added protection, remains cooler than sand and most other materials in direct sunlight, and it’s low maintenance. Rubber mulch is slightly more expensive than other common options at $120 per cubic yard on average, whereas pine bark mulch is $30 per cubic yard. But when it comes to your children’s safety, the investment is worthwhile. Consult your playground equipment installation company about material recommendations before starting this project.
Whether or not you need a permit to install a playground depends on where you live, as some cities require it and others don’t. You can contact your local building department to find the answer or ask your playground equipment installer if you need a permit. Reputable playground equipment companies will know the laws in your area and can help you apply for the permit and coordinate inspections. Building permits cost$250 to $2,000 for outdoor projects.
In most cases, your professional playground installer will put down a playground surface before assembling the fun-filled system. However, you should ask your installer about this service before booking an installment date. Most playground equipment installation companies offer service add-ons like leveling the area, laying down a surface, building a border to keep the surface material contained, and setting up the swing set.
