Great. The guy was very forthright, punctual, and assured me that my house was not the messiest he'd seen. While he was here, I had him look at my freezers and we made arrangements for him to work on those. He had to order parts for my washer, and said for me to keep my old washer and dryer for as long as I could get replacement parts...which I appreciated. Once the parts arrived he was back and got everything working again.

Horrible. Multiple "no shows" without even a phone call. They had to come back 3 times to fix leaks they caused and that took over a month. Two separate managers not following through with there promises. Over priced. Completely different advice from separate techs. Installed Pex incorrectly. Only pressure tested half the system. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation and use anyone else.

After showing up, Ken was very professional and explained everything he was doing and how we could prevent clogs and stuck mechanical parts in the future.

At a home show in Fairbanks last weekend, Altrol had a booth at the show and offered a free inspection of their household plumping services. ( I had signed up with other plumping businesses at the show, but Altrol is the only one that called to schedule an appointment.) The young man that came out, John A., was very prompt, polite, and efficient. He advised me on what he thought the problem was with my pump system and offered options. I will definitely use this business again!

Our tenant needed emergency service at 5:00am, and -25 degree's, because the Toyo Stove, the house's primary heat source, quit working. It turns out Altrol doesn't service Toyo brand stoves. This stove is widely used in the Fairbanks area so I'm very surprised that they don't service this brand of stove.

Sent two techs to do the job of one, my boiler efficiency was 86.2% when they arrived, and 83.8% when they left. Altrol doesn't charge based on the job they do, you will never get a break down of parts and labor. What you get is Altrols take it or leave it pricing, and when the job is done there is very little documentation. As an example we needed glycol in our system Altrol doesn't charge based on what need they charge in 5 gallon units, if you need 6.5 gallons you will be charged for 10. Even as an esc customer (a privilege you have to buy) Altrols prices are 25-35% higher than other reputable heating companies in this area. Currently I have called four days in a row to get some answers to why my efficiency dropped after service, and still have not recieved a response. They'll do the work but you'll pay through the nose for it.

Paul was professional, respectful, and friendly. He completed the work in the time estimated, cleaned the work area, and explained the repairs very clearly. Because of his thorough work on this project, I would call Altrol for any future repairs, and would recommend them to others.

They sent someone the same day I called. He was quick, didn't have to make multiple trips and didn't leave a mess. Altrol has always been great to deal with.

After receiving the reminder post card, we scheduled an appointment with Shawn to perform our annual service check. Altrol sent email reminders, as well as phone calls, reminding us of our scheduled appointment. Shawn arrived on time and ready to work. After his initial diagnosis, we just needed the routine annual maintenance service. He estimated that it would take 1.5 hours, it ended up less than that. He was very respectful of our house, time, and concerns. Highly recommend Altrol for any heating concerns. We were informed that they now do plumbing, which we will not hesitate to use if ever needed. Thank you again for stellar service.

Following a recommendation from a house inspector, we had Altrol come out to improve the efficiency of our furnace. They completed the work on time and there were no excess charges tacked onto the bill. We also use them to service our system (they came highly recommended by the previous owners and we did not want to change).

Works was thorough and performed competently but seemed a little expensive.

First call was in the middle of the night/early morning when I went downstairs and it was 35 degrees in my living room after the zone valve broke the night before that I wasn't aware of. I called them, and Altrol sent someone out a few hours later, by that evening my house was up to 70 F and it was great :) A bit expensive, but when it is 40 below 0 and on the weekend.....what can you do? Second call was a scheduled in advance glycol additive to prevent pipes from freezing in the winter. He also cleaned off the furnace a bit because when I 'cleaned' it earlier in the day before his arrival, apparently all I did was blow the dust into the pilot light effectively putting it out. Oops. I will leave to professionals from now on. Thank you Altrol. We also joined their 2 year membership program which gives discounts.

A technician from Altrol came over to my house to look at the existing system and give me an estimate on a new one. He showed up on time and thoroughly explained how the process worked, how long it would take, and all of the associated costs. I was especially impressed with the binder of previous boiler installs that he brought. It gave me an idea of what the new system would look like and how tidy their work was. When I gave Altrol the go-ahead to install a new boiler, they scheduled an appointment and sent out two installers on that date. It took 2 days to install the new system, as they had explained it would. All of their work was very professional and they cleaned up the work area in my garage (where the boiler is) when they were finished. A week later, an installer followed up to go over the basics of the system and explain how everything works. He was very thorough and professional.

A different person comes out each time. I had soot on my boiler when the worker came out to do a check. I asked him if should get the stack cleaned, and he told me to wait until the spring to do it. I came home from work one day and there was soot everywhere because the furnace had backfired. I called there and they told me the worker no longer works there. I no longer use their services.

Altrol Inc. is a great company. They are very conscious about coming into the house and making sure they don't drop anything down like, dirt, snow or oil. They are very courteous and very nice. They are very polite. They tell you everything that they've done. They don't treat you like an idiot.

They have been in business for about 30 years. They were punctual and showed up on time. They were quiet expensive but did a good job.

I was satisfied with the work they did.

I found that their ESC club, Energy Savings Club was a mask for marked up prices for residential service. Their install prices for a new heating system, Boiler or hot air furnace, are 25-30% higher than the highest completion!Their products and quality was very similar if not exactly the same.I spoke with the owner, David Bridges, about this and he said that, "some people in Fairbanks AK just don't know the real cost of business." Rocky's and Kraft Heating both had similar products and quality work, with WAY Cheaper prices. Do your own research, there are some real professionals at Altrol, but I think the owner is blinded by greed, and wants to hit a home-run on every deal.
