He came and fixed it the same day I called. He was punctual and professional. Got the work done quickly. I would definitely call him again for garage door work.

Great experience.
Reasonable quote and quick appointment scheduling. Installer was on time, worked quickly and politely. We've used them before and will continue to do so - great folks to work with!

Brink was called to purchase and have a new garage door installed. He was late for repair/replacement and kind of a jerk about working conditions. The door had and still has a bad panel. He has repeatedly given me the shine off and the problem still exists. He has never responded as promised and I am stuck with a bad panel. To have it fixed requires calling his competitor to repair it for about $400 out of my pocket. Not a good experience, just call Pioneer Door and have it done right. Incidentally found out he purchases his doors from Pioneer Door in Anchorage. I do not work for or know any one who does work for Pioneer Door; but have used them at my work and have seen other residential work they have done. My neighbor 2 doors down just last week had his replaced by Pioneer. It is excellent as expected. This is what jogged my memory and prompted me to join Angie's list to share my experience.LONG VERSION;Initially called Brink to have a broken spring repaired, parts were not exactly right but the repair worked. The response was prompt but professionalism was marginal.Still despite the odd personality of the technician (owner of the company) the service seemed good and this is a small local business; an I support small business as much as possible. Next our garage door opener went bad, his price was a little high but not too bad. Had the work completed, had to readjust it later, no big deal. This said we decided to have our garage door replaced about a year later with a new more energy efficient one. Had brink give me an estimate and it was about the same as the other quote received. So we scheduled the work/purchase. He was late, about an hour. The space to work in was a little tight but was cleared out as requested, still this was enough to give him an attitude, no big deal. The work was completed and he left. About a week later I found myself in the garage with lights off (kids) and saw quite a bit of light coming in between 2 of the panels, cold air was poring in. The panels were tight on both ends but a good sized gap was toward the middle. Called to report this and received the answer that things move when its cold. I tried to plead my case for a bad panel stating that it was a new energy efficent door installed by him and it shouldn't leak. He stopped by a couple of days later and saw for himself the gap/leak and said to wait it would probably close up. I told him there was no way waiting would fix it but would not budge. Called him again stating the problem still existed, he said that there may be some type of stick on weather seal he could affix between the panels. I told him that when he sold me the door he stated the design of the door made it so no weather stripping was needed. He said it may work anyway. I informed him that I had already tried this and it didn't work and that I wanted the panel replaced. He said he would call me to schedule a time to come look at it again. Never heard from him again. Panel is still bad and still leaking cold air. No warranty due to Brink being a small independant dealer that doesnt acutaly represent the manufacturer. Bad experice and stilled screwed without giving his competitor about $400 to fix it. Incidentally found out he purchases his doors from Pioneer Door in Anchorage. Brink did not meet my exspectations for quality of work, product, and especially customer service. This sucks.

I called three men to come over and diagnose all my issues upfront and then provide a description of how/what he would repair and provide an estimate. Mr. Brink was the second person who came over and provide an assessment and estimate. He was very prompt and courteous. (I should also state that the first guy I called wouldn't even come over!!! He just wanted to do an estimate over the phone...lazy.)
Mr. Brink was the cheaper of the two, but he was also came across much more professional. He had the time and all the parts he needed on-hand to do the work at the time of the estimate, so I had him do it. No need to make an appointment, which was great.
About a half hour later he was done and all was repaired and adjusted nicely. He even took some time to check and torque every nut and bolt on the garage door.
For the last two plus years, the garage door opener has functioned just fine and I have needed no new calls for my garage door.
