Delighted that they came with short notice. Initially appeared that the entire unit would need to be replaced but on further checking, found out that a simple replacement part fixed the unit.

Fabulous! Chris and Inez were readily available for an appointment within the framework my busy schedule and offered great tips on the status of our door openers and how to keep them moving smoothly.

Garage Doors of Alaska is an outstanding business. I called them after a garage door spring unexpectedly snapped on a 14-year old door. They came within a week and replaced both springs for a very reasonable $220 in less than 45 minutes of work time. They even added a beef-up plate to the center door connection point on our automatic opener (a DIY project several years prior) at no cost. This is a husband-wife run team and they are very knowledgeable, punctual, conscientious, and a pleasure to do business with. Because part of our garage is also used as a gym, I asked for door insulation recommendations. They said our door was rated R-13 (good for this area) but it would benefit from a brush weather seal on the outside. They were able to return the next business day and installed it in under half an hour for $90. They predict the seal will cut our garage gas heater usage in half.
Don't hesitate to call them for repairs and I'm confident their installs will be as professional.

Quick response and very professional. They showed up on time, performed the job, cleaned up. I have used this service before with the same professional results.

Fine. I had an appointment for 10 a.m. and received a call about 8:30 a.m. explaining that it would have to be moved to 11 a.m. and why. The appointment was rescheduled for 11 a.m. and the crew was on time. I really appreciated the fact that they took the time to call me way before the appointment time and explained to me what caused the change. This allowed be to accomplish a couple of errands before the crew arrived. While doing the repairs, the crew was extremely good at explaining to me what the problem was and answered any and all questions I had.

On a Saturday, upon returning home, our garage door would not open. After checking the garage door opener, etc., I noticed one of the 2 springs broken. The springs were last replaced 13 years ago (long survival for such springs.) We were leaving town Wednesday of that week, so I hoped we could get the spring fixed before leaving. One car in the garage, one outside, luckily. The door is too heavy to easily lift without the spring assist.
After checking online several companies, I called Garage Doors of Alaska on Sunday to leave a message. Later that day, I received a call back from Everette Calkins. Much to my surprise, he said one of his employees would be over Monday morning. Monday morning, he called back to say that the employee had a class and could not make it, but he would be there himself to fix the door. He came soon after with an assistant, and they quickly replaced both springs. Keep an old spring with a new one is not a good idea. I was very pleased with the speed and quality of the work, and their friendliness. The door opens and closes with ease. We were able to take our trip knowing we would be able to get back into our garage. Note, we are in Anchorage, and he came from Wasilla, an extra tribute to the service.

I called in the afternoon and setup an appointment for the next morning. They arrived at the scheduled time and installed the new opener plus adjusted the door. Three days later I called and stated that the dorr was having problems closing. They immediately came out and re-adjusted the dorr. It has operated very smoothly since

Chris answered the phone on a Sunday after I found his webpage (I was expecting to get voicemail). I showed him the problem via FaceTime and he was very adept with technology, which was great to see. He quickly determined that the garage door's spring had broken and was confirmed visually. He arranged to show up at 9 AM the next day (Monday) and he was right on time. They got to work in the garage and, in 15-20 minutes, had replaced the spring and had gotten it working, at a very reasonable price. I'm very impressed with his company and would hire him again.

The owner/installer was very nice and helpful, and showed some air gaps on the outside of the garage door framing because he knew I was improving for the Energy rebate program. I got inserts for the windows, and we were painting, so the owner said he would stop by to place the inserts after we painted the garage door if we had problems with the inserts. Overall he was $160 less than two other companies for the same garage door and was prompt and detailed, compared to many contractors. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We called him in the late evening because our garage door wasn't opening and closing. He was there the next morning at 8:15 so that we could get out to go to work. He replaced two rollers on the garage doors and put spacers. It took him a total of 45 minutes to fix it. They were very quick to provide the service. He was prepared. The price was great. He was really nice about billing me as well because I had no money on me at the moment. I will use him again if needed.
