Oct 2011
When we first called to schedule the move, we informed the owner that we had a four bedroom, 3000 sq. foot home. He assured us that 2 men and 1 truck were enough to get the job done. The two guys showed up and one of the movers' pants were around his legs. We had to look at this guy's behind all day because his pants were too big and he wasn't wearing a belt. It took these guys 18 hours to load our home in Palmer and move it to Eagle River. They took two trips and we were charged for drive time twice. They should have sent four guys and a bigger truck. They were so tired by the end of the day that they started putting boxes in the garage instead of in their appropriate rooms. Each box was clearly labeled but we ended up with garage boxes in the kitchen and kitchen boxes in the garage and storage shed. They placed our freezers and cold food boxes in the middle of the garage. It took us awhile to figure out where the boxes were and by the time we found them, the food had spoiled. They also told us they plugged in our freezer but they didn't and we lost over $500 of frozen meat and food. All of our prime rib and halibut were gone. The smell was horrendous and the melted water from the freezer ran under about 15 boxes. My husband's vintage vinyl albums were damaged as well as his leather books. My four poster bed was broken as one of the top posters was broken completely off. Our wood furniture wasn't padded correctly and we ended up with huge scratches and dents in our expensive bedroom set. Because our rental home was smaller than our previous home, we have yet to unpack all of our boxes to see the damage. We called the owner and he accused us of damaging our own furniture. He said we had to make a claim within 3 days but he was gone for weeks hunting. We couldn't even get to our furniture and boxes for weeks so going through everything and finding the damage in 3 days was impossible. They didn't put our beds together like we asked and we spent the first week in the house on the floor. My husband has back problems so he had to sleep on the couch...not a bad deal except for the couch was in the middle of the garage! It was horrible. Please never use these movers. Completely unprofessional! Why would we damage our own furniture and do I really need to look at a guy's bare behind all day?
