could not be used on my car and that the cost would be approximately $800. The implication was that I had not informed them
that my car was a diesel and would therefore cost more when in fact I had spent quite some time discussing this aspect of the transaction with the salesman when setting up my appointment as I had been under the assumption that a remote start was not compatible with my car. Other than that the transaction went satisfactorily. If I deal with this company in the future it will be with a prior written quote.
"MGM Auto Tire Truck - Customer response. [removed member name] wife called w/ questions concering a Volvo she was purchasing. She asked for my opinion on a factory remote start on the Volvo. While on the phone with her, she made an appointment for [removed member name] VW for 12/19/13. He came on the phonce for some questions on remote start models, confirmed the appt. date. Thursday appx. 11;00, MGM called as [removed member name] did not show for his rescheduled for appointment. He then rescheduled for Thursday the 26th, we called at 11:00 a.m. as he did not call or show for his second appointment. Not a problem, after a lengthy discussion, he re-scheduled for the January 2. [removed member name] came in for his appointment, signed a work order. The work order listed his vehicle as was given, no mention at the time of dropping off his vehicle of it being a manual transmission, or a being a diesel motor. So prior to starting the installation, the customer was called to discuss the difference's. At that time he approved the additional time & cost of installation. He also did make a comment, as long as it's now more than a 1000.00 in joking manner. The quote given over the phone for additional charges was approved both by phone and when he picked up his VW. As for the prior written quote in which [removed member name] signed at time of dropping his vehicle for the work to be done, MGM gave him the exact increase in price, which was the same given by phone to him, as when he picked up his vehicle."
When we left and got on the highway I noticed we no longer had cruise control. I took it back and they refused to fix it. I took it to Suburu dealer and they wouldn't look at it until the autostart was removed.
After I had MGM remove it, Suburu said a wire had been cut under the dash. MGM refused to admit that they'd cut it. The whole experience cost me an additional $750.00 because of this cut wire.
MGM charged me to take it out and reinstall it, and Suburu charged me for the inspection. Total $750.00
I had cruise control when i went in there and didn't when I left.
I would not recommend them to anyone for anything.
