I had not been very happy with them, unfortunately, there's not a lot of corporate need services. I would definitely be looking for a new one when I have a chance. It's quite a substantial amount of money. If they were doing a good job, I would have actually had them come every week but instead I have them every 2 weeks because they're going to do a bad job anyway. Since they're a corporate entity, they have multiple cleaners so they're definitely on the higher end. A private individual would charge about half of what they charge, but a private individual don't have as much flexibility as a corporate entity would.  I have to come in and check my house everyday to clean. Sometimes, it's acceptable and sometimes I can't even notice that they came in.

Rarely do I finish a phone call and immediately sit down to write a review!  I just called Merry Maids in Anchorage for a one-time cleaning for my very large home prior to my moving in next week.  I asked for a quote and was told the rate was $65 dollars per cleaner per hour , which was pretty steep, but I was also told that I could only have 2 cleaners at one time.  I asked for a quote for a half day for 5 cleaners.  The employee snickered, stating I might get a third cleaner for awhile around mid-afternoon.  She also told me it would be at least 3 weeks before anyone would be available.  Yeah, right!  Then I read the other Angie's Lists reviews.  Horrible customer service to begin with was my experience, but now I will NEVER even tell these people my address!

Merry Maids was inconsistent with their schedule & performance.  On more than one occasion they no showed for regular scheduled cleaning.  Late arrivals are typical.  I also had items (jewelry/cash) disappear.  My credit card was billed in error on two occasions.  They even tried to charge me for a time they no showed.  There is no supervision of staff while cleaning is being done. Cleaners frequently talked on their cell phones, taking personal calls.  They would also sit in the vehicle in my driveway for extended periods of time.  No accountability from management.  I would not recommend their service.  It was way more trouble than what its worth.

We've been using Merry Maids for over a year now but we've finally had it. I stuck with them because I appreciated having a company with a nationally recognized name, but it's not been worth it. They are pricey and we've had problems with them for the past few months. The quailty of the cleaning has gone downhill drastically. For the last cleaning, I actually had to go check if the bed had been made, just to verify if anyone had even been in the house. Every time I call, Gage is very understanding and says things will  be corrected, and the next week's cleaning is up to par, but the week after that, it goes right back downhill. We will no longer use them. Two of our friends, whom I'd recommended use Merry Maids, are also having problems with them. I do not recommend them.

They arrived at 8:20AM when my scheduled time is between 11:00AM and 2:00PM.  They did another job and returned to our house at 12:45PM.  We let them in and got their first names and we left for approximately 2 1/2 hours.  Upon our return, the hallway bathroom door was locked from the inside.  Finally, getting it opened, we realized that the room had NOT been cleaned.
There were two magnets missing off my refrigerator so, I decided to check around to see what else had or had not been done.  Two rings and watch, as well as some rare money was taken from vaious areas in the master bedroom.  Nothing was left out in the open so, they had to go through a drawer under a clock and my jewelry box. 
Also, a stained glass lamp in the living room had been damaged.
A police report was filed and the Merry Maids Manager was out to see us on Monday, June 25, 2012 and returned out check.
I would nevery use this company again!!!!

They did a great job the first time, but their service tends to degrade each time after that.  I would use them again on a limited basis.
