Measuring and estimate was done very quickly. Installation was slow (several delays) and the job wasn't finished. I tried, several times, to contact them, but received garbled text messages (no phone call or email) in response. I finally gave up and finished the job myself.

It went well. Josh was on time, polite, and knowledgable. He did an excellent job .. just what I wanted.

It went very well, Josh keeps the work area tidy and makes every attempt to keep the construction mess from intruding into the rest of the living area. He had to replace sheetrock on a 10 x 12 ft area, after taping, mudding and texturing, the wall is perfect. The platform under the washer/dryer is large and sturdy, with nicely spaced steps.

Excellent, without exaggeration! Am now attempting to get this contractor to perform additional work at my home.

We are remodeling an older house and needed someone to re-trim our 2500 square foot home. Reusing some of the old trim and supplementing it with new, Josh was able to make our windows really shine. He showed up to the job site on time and did a fantastic job. He also stepped in and help out wherever there was a need. Prepping the facia board for new wire to be run by cutting a 6 inch swatch all around the house. Josh has a great positive attitude and has been a pleasure to work with.

I own/rent a house in north Anchorage and am curently not living in the state. I needed some things repaired in my house and contacted Josh from the Angie's List options. The experience was very pleasant. I called to have him do odd and ends repairs and he responded very quickly. He gave me quotes and different options of what I could choose. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of like I have in the past by other repairmen. He was professional and very polite. I would definitely use him again in the future.

I first met Josh while looking for a contracter to remodel my home. I had been through a long list of carpenters and all of them seemed uninterested and unresponsive. Upon meeting Josh he was attentive and knowlegable, and I had my estimate in hand within about two days. He was the lowest estimate by far and he seemed eager to work on my home so I gave the work to him. As soon as I gave him the go it was like a gun shot off and he went to work. He finished on time and significantly under budget on account that he was willing to look for sales on materials, and anywhere he was able to save money he did so. And when I recieved my invoice I was happy to see copies of all receipts and time cards. Being an accountant I appreciated being able to see the costs of adding value to my asset. I had such a good experience he is the first one I call for any household mishap. And he is always responsive and just takes care of what I need no matter how small. He's very clean with the messiness that comes with home renovations, and CALLS ME BACK! On a personal note he represented his company in a very professional and polite manner, but he was a joy to work with. Always smiling and joking. I liked him so much I recomend him to everyone I know. I only worry some day he'll be to busy for my honey-do's.

I've been using Makari Construction for years. the first time I used them was back in 2008. I was in the process of remodelling an investment property and chose Makari because the estimates where low, itemized and the crew seemed knowledgeable. I could see where all the costs incurred would be, and they even walked me through different processes for saving money on my budget by using other materials and alternative building methods. As the project progressed they where polite, happy, attentive and accommodating. My wife's biggest comment was the cleanliness. Every day we would come home to a clean house which wasn't the norm from previous experience with contractors. There wasn't a facet they couldn't handle as far as a home goes. And they where able to put my mind to ease with the explanation of processes and fixes for various projects. I've been using them ever since, when you find a good contractor you never lose their number. I was always a little apprehensive before a project began, but with Makari I know the estimates are accurate and the knowledgeable crew can handle anything, they are professionals.
