They are responsive, accommodating, and keep my house clean despite the challenges of dogs, cats and a clutter bug husband.

I first came to utilize this service from a Groupon. The scheduling was 2-3 months out, however they were able to change my date and work me in much sooner, (November). They have been back biweekly ever since. They are prompt, professional, and have been wonderful to work with.

We have a 3b/r 3ba home. The sheets are changed, all is dusted (we live near Earthquake Park and the dust is unreal), and I love how Dave vacuums! We have a tendency to clutter (50 yo's and a 4 yo) and they are able to properly re-distribute our and quot;stuffand quot; and when we arrive home it looks so awesome. They are both great with the animals, and my dogs just adore them both.

As with any personal service it takes a little bit for them to get to know you and your expectations, and you their methods and services. I have had house-cleaners off and on for the last 20 years, so better than others. I would recommend and quot;Maid in Alaskaand quot; to anyone that asks.

I had a Groupon, so I paid $75 for $150 (!!) worth of cleaning services. 2 hours for 2 workers. I paid $30 extra for baseboard cleaning, $25 extra for refrigerator cleaning, $25 extra for oven cleaning. Scheduling is done over the internet via their website. I could not get an appointment as early as I wanted, but that was made clear to me before purchasing the Groupon. It was about 3 months out -- I requested a date in November and the first they had was February 10th.

They arrived on time despite snow and icy roads. The 2 workers were very friendly, pleasant and polite. After a tour of the house, they got right to work. I was moderately happy with the results. They started upstairs with 1 bedroom, 1 office, living room, kitchen, eating area and 2 full baths. They ran out of time and the downstairs (2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, den, gym) barely got touched. Baseboards were done and vacuuming, but the bathroom wasn't done at all! And only a bit of dusting was done downstairs. My house is not cluttered, nor is it very dirty so I was surprised that the 2 hours plus all that extra money I paid for baseboards, oven and refrig, did not yield me a better cleaning.

They did mop the entry way on their way out, but it sure didn't look like my kitchen or eating area floor had been mopped.

Basically, it was a good job on the areas they got to. My fridge and oven look great. The baseboards are still dirty in places because they need a scrubbing, not just a wipe down which is why I paid them extra to do them. So for the money paid, even with the Groupon, I feel I did not get my money's worth. I will not use this company in the future and hesitate to recommend them to others.
Response from Maid In Alaska
"Kind of a bummer! We actually ended up staying a little bit past our time limit because we felt bad that more wasn't cleaned. Unfortunately, the homeowner realized that she had homeschooling in common with the housekeeper and lots of chatting occured.....a "no no" for both the housekeeper and the homeowner. We now strictly enforce our "home MUST be empty" policy because of incidents like this. We have such great clients we'd like for them to be happy."
