Emailed and called store after delivery date to find out status. Calls not returned, emails not answered. Finally reached some one who told me it wouldn't be arriving for an additional couple of weeks.
Arrived at store 2 weeks after original delivery date at time of order. At first they insisted that it could only be delivered on Tuesday mornings. This would make the delivery an additional 7 days after the store received the item and 3 weeks after original delivery date at time of order. It would also require me to take the morning off from work. 4 phone calls later they agreed to deliver it before 11:00 AM Sunday. At 1:00 I started calling. The store knew nothing but would call me back. They didn't. Called again, and again. Lowes confirmed I was scheduled for a delivery at 11:00 AM. The store assured me they were on there way. They weren't. After more calls store gave me the delivery drivers number to call. I called and left a voice message. 20 minutes later called again. No one answered. Called store again. This time someone followed through. Turned out delivery guys didn't know they had to deliver it today. Sent truck out. Delivery guys were wonderful. Service at Lowes sucked.
Several months later Lowes called to let us know the windows and door were in and that House Surgeons would call to setup the appointment to do the installs. House Surgeons called and we setup the day for the install.
On the day of the install i received a call from the dispatcher letting me know the crew was running late. I was okay with this because they didn't expect it be to long. The crew arrived 3 hours later. I tried remaining positive through all this. The next shoe to drop was that while getting the windows out they discovered the wrong size windows were ordered for some of the windows. So after the contractor and lowes figured things out the correct sized windows were ordered and we had to wait for 4 more months.
This time the contractor came out on time and began the install. During the install i had questions in regards to what looked to me like the contractor not sealing the windows correctly. They were just using a tape and not putting in any chalking as well. The contractor ignored me and I called lowes who sent someone out to check. Lowes agreed and had the contractor seal the windows with the chalk and tape. The windows were mostly finished the first day but the contractor had to come back the next day to finish and do the sliding glass door. The next day brought some other crew and they ran into issues removing our old french style door. Eventually they were able to get the old door out and put the new door in. Apparently after the fact I discovered they were missing a screw for the door latch catch so they used a deck screw. Also we had told Lowes we wanted the outside trim painted however that was never done.
I had told Lowes at one point that I didnt want this contractor doing the work anymore or that if they were going to have them do the work they would need to send someone out to make sure it was done correctly.
This was by far the worst ever experience I've ever had in my life with a contractor. I will never use Lowes installation service or this contractor again nor would I ever recommend either to anyone.
The installer team led Matt Stott was also invaluable. Prior to installation, Matt spent time with me explaining what would be the best sequence in installation and any special adjustments he might have to make. They inspected the cabinets upon arrival and made sure to identify damaged or wrongly-sized pieces were replaced. Matt and his team were punctual, professional and the result is that I have a gorgeous new kitchen.
Also, even if it did not have to do with kitchen cabinets, Lori advised me on paint, flooring type, sink and plumbing and never led me wrong. My renovation is that much nicer and more functional due to her honest and objective advice.
