A horrible experience with Kusko Fence.  Chuck the owner at first came across & gave the impression he knew what he was doing. We found out he did not.  His work would only hold for a few months.  Were out 5,000.00 not the 4,500.00 for I just found out bills.  For this kind of money I would not have expected the cheap & unprofessional work that we got from KUSKO FENCE.

Kusco was about the same price as other fencing contractors we had contacted, but was available immediately. As it turns out it took him 2 more weeks than the date stated. He told me he could get the fence stained for me too for next to nothing since he had a larger project also in the area, this never happened. One time when asked why he didn't show up or call he stated "It's construction this stuff happens." another time his truck broke down, and had many other excuses, usually rude. He didn't use treated lumber on the cross members only the uprights, although he did use nice cedar for the actual fence. The gate wasn't square, it looked like a child built it. He left all the trash and scraps in our yard. Overall very disappointing.

We were trying to get a deck built and the fence put up before our wedding so timing was critical. Kusko's bid was comparable to another we'd gotten, and they were available immediately, so we decided to use them. They came out one day to dig the post holes and pour cement, then had to give them a couple days to cure. We didn't hear from them for a while and had to call a number of times to get them to agree to a time to come finish the job. When my husband pushed him to provide a time he'd come finish the job, Kusko was brusque and full of attitude. They finally came out and finished it, but there were a number of issues.

One, which thankfully we caught before it was too late, was that we had specified that the gate had to be at least 5 feet wide, in order to allow equipment to pass through. Kusko apparently decided on his own that this would not be a good idea, and set a post right in the middle of the pathway, giving us a 4' gate. My husband was able to get another contractor (who was there working on the deck) to pull the post out before it was fully set. Kusko was very surly when told he'd put it in the wrong place, and that despite his opinions, we did really want a 5' gate. The latch that he put on the gate is flimsy and unreliable, and we already have to find a replacement.

There was also a tree along the fence line that my husband asked to have cut down. The 2 workers there at the time said that would be no problem. When we got home that evening, the tree was still there, and the fence had been jigsawed around the tree. They said that Kusko had told them not to cut the tree down becuase it was near power lines. Rather than call us or give us an opportunity to do anything about it, they just worked around it. Now it will be VERY difficult to cut the tree down with the fence there, and within a year that tree will have grown enough to start pushing on the fence.

Thirdly, nearly ALL the nails used in putting the slats up are sticking out at an angle. My husband had to go around and bang them all in so they lie flat. They also left all the bar code stickers on the wood, and they were sticking out  on the bottom of the fence, looking awful. We had to go to crawl aroundon the ground and pull them off EVERY single board with plyers.

Overall, shoddy workmanship and a BAD attitude.
