"Hello [member name removed], Thanks for your review. Can you please let us know how we could better meet your expectations? I am available anytime to help you and have talked on the phone with you before. My number is 365-2500. I look forward to speaking with you. Matt Klebs"
After the two days, it took several weeks to get anyone from Klebs to come back out and finish the projects. (In fact, they never actually did finish the projects.) Promise after promise to finish the job, to make up for the damage to our home, and to replace a faulty part on our combi unit were continually broken. (Klebs did end up knocking $150 off our bill for banging up our brand new fridge, but refused to compensate us for the additional damage, the fact that all of their labor failed and/or was not up to code, and refused to replace the faulty valve.)
About a week after they installed the combi unit, we were without heat and hot water. We called Mountain Mechanical and they sent out a polite, professional, and knowledgeable technician right away. Within minutes, he was able to diagnose the problem. Klebs had failed to attach the exhaust vent to the system! They had just rested the exhaust vent in place, allowing exhaust to leak into our home instead of being directed outside. Because it was not attached, the vent was easily knocked out of place. And, without the vent in place, exhaust (co2) built up in the system, causing it to shut off. Mountain Mechanical properly attached the vent. A few days later, late in the evening, we were without heat or hot water again. Mountain Mechanical walked us through the error code and re-setting the unit over the phone at no charge. When the heat went out again the next day, Mountain Mechanical came out right away. Klebs had not correctly set the pressure/temp of the unit during install. Mountain Mechanical fixed Klebs error efficiently.
Throughout the entire month-long ordeal, Klebs' representatives were rude, aggressive, and dishonest. We initially chose to hire them after receiving three bids for the project because they were the cheapest and because they talked the talk when they were pursuing the contract. As soon as the deposit was received, this courteous customer service disappeared. Further, between all of the things we've had to have fixed (the above problems with our combi as well as having the hose bib and ceiling fan re-done), we've probably spent more than if we had gone with the most expensive bid. Additionally, the stress of dealing with such an unprofessional company and the damage to our home were so terrible and not worth whatever money we thought we might save by hiring them.
Wayne obviously knew his stuff and is very capable and professional, but I do not trust that he has my best interest in mind.
"Hello, At KLEBS we care about your experience and want to provide you with the best possible service. If your boiler stopped working just minutes after we completed our work, I would encourage you to contact us right away. It is very possible that we could still remedy the problem. Should you wish to discus this further, please give us a call at 365-2500 and ask for Matt. Thank you for your feedback!"

BEWARE, FURNACE REPLACEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FROM KLEBS ARE A RACKET!!
Here's how he told me I'd have to spend $5500 when in fact all that was wrong was a $215.00 part:
I had them out to look at our furnace that wasn't working, and instead of doing a real inspection they poked around, did a CO2 test, then condemned and recommended replacement of entire system. He made a very good case, was very friendly, and I almost fell for it. Fortunately I have a friend in the business, and had him come over-- all that was wrong was that it needed a good cleaning, and a new circuit board. Total bill? $215.00 for board and cleaning and it's working like a champ!!! He saved me over $5000- that's FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS of hard earned money that Klebs wanted me to spend. You can imagine I was pretty angry!!! I have learned that a lot of places here in Anchorage try to get people to replace the furnace instead of repairing it. Even a bottom of the line furnace should last at least 30 years. Make sure to educate yourself before making any decisions and don't believe what they tell you if they say it's not fixable, and always get a 2nd and 3rd opinion. Now to be fair, a good friend of ours had Klebs install a brand new furnace and they were happy with their experience, I just don't recommend them for repair work unless you want to spend a LOT of extra money. Best of luck!
After Wayne took the circulator apart he noted a piece needed to be replaced and that he had to go buy. It was very frustrating to me that possible replacement parts were not readily available on the truck given they knew what part was leaking. I had to pay $25 for travel and $148/hr labor for him to run get the part.
Perhaps I am naive, but $620 seemed very excessive for a simple repair. There were shut-off valves on each side of the circulator, so minimal plumbing was involved. Wayne did good work and was nice to work with, but I think the $296 labor cost was excessive.
The next day, I talked to my RE agent who said that the charge is usually around $150. I chatted with the buyers agent who said she just had hers inspected and cleaned for $125. At this point, I'm furious. I've posted a review on yelp and facebook. I decided to contact Klebs for an explanation. I spoke to a very nice gentleman (John) who said he would look into it. He called back to tell me that their company allows a maximum of 1-1/2 hours (around $150) for the work that was done. He will talk to Wayne, and most likely make a credit back to my credit card for any overcharges. I'm very thankful that he was responsive, but I have a feeling this has happened before. He told me that Wayne is very and quot;meticulousand quot;. I told him that I call that slow. He said he was trying to be nice. I pointed out that his niceness was costing me, and others, money. He agreed.
And that invitation from friends that I ended up missing?? They had planned to surprise me with a birthday cake that day. But I spent my day (the hottest on record for that day) sweltering as I waited....and waited.
July 13 update: Refund has been received, but the facts remain as stated.

intermittently. Klebs had originally installed the furnace and came out on many
service calls trying to fix it. After paying more than $1,000.00 in repair
bills to Klebs (all labor), the problem was still not corrected. We called
another furnace repair company and they diagnosed our issue as an installation
problem. After contacting Klebs about this, they would only re-vent the system
and our appointment would be weeks later. We had to pay another company to fix
the most desperate issues that would allow us to have continual heat. Klebs has
refused to refund any of the labor charges, or compensate for $397 repair bill we
had to pay another company although they did come out and warranty the venting which was too small
according to the installation manual and Lennox Technical Help. The furnace
still needs additional work to level it in order for the condensation to drain
properly, as both the other Furnace Company and Lennox have recommended. Both
companies have confirmed that our house and furnace mounting surface show no
signs of settling issues, just the furnace itself is unleveled, which does not
allow gravity condensate drainage. It appears our only option for reimbursement
from Klebs is small claims court. I would recommend that anyone needing a new
furnace or even a furnace repair to not go through Klebs unless small claims
court is something that interests them!!!!
I provided them with a B on price only because they were a bit more expensive than their competitors. However, the warranty offered on their products is much better.
After they were done with the installation we noticed the water heater was making a really loud noise. They were able to send someone out the same afternoon we called. The service man fixed it quickly and we haven't had an issue with anything else since the installation.
Overall I would recommend Klebs over other competitors because of their experience, timeliness, and professionalism.
