Description of Work: Bruce constructed a second handrail on my deck stairs to bring them up to code. He did an excellent job -- it is sturdy, attractive, and fully functional.

He has always completed each project beyond my expectations. He does very high-quality work, regardless of the task. I have also seen his work on projects other than my own, and I don't understand why anyone would rate his work poorly; I have to think there was some misunderstanding. I have recommended him to friends who have been very satisfied with his work.
Description of Work: Bruce has done several projects for me, ranging from deck work to indoor finish work, dating back to 2009.

It didn't go well. From the beginning Bruce appeared inattentive and did not listen when I explained what we wanted. He made mistakes in calculating materials, which cost me time and money, he was unreliable, and dishonest. He lied to me repeatedly and in the end he tried to charge me for hours that he did not work. Bruce charged $60 per hour for his labor and his work was mediocre at best. I had to rehang one of the doors he installed, rebuild one of the window jambs that he made too large for the rough opening, and repair shoddy work on a door jamb for a sliding door. He also installed one of the window jamb assemblies off center. If you have an easy job and aren't using stain-grade material, Bruce might suffice. He is a $20 per hour handyman, not a $60 per hour finish carpenter. Be aware, however, Bruce has a proclivity for showing up late and billing for all day and his version of events bears little resemblance to the truth.
Description of Work: Carpenter was hired to complete trim work in third floor of my home. He was fired after approximately three days.
