We purchased a condo which needed some handyman type work done on it. We're unable to physically able to do the work. We had John over twice to work on different tasks and will have him do a few more things as soon as we are able to get things setup. Aug 23 - John showed up on time and replaced the existing chandelier with a fan/light assembly. He also installed one set of vertical blinds. He would have installed a 2nd set but I had an appointment so we rescheduled. He did a few other tasks I asked of him not really handyman related. Great job.

He replaced the leaky waterheater relief valve no problem. After looking at the leaky hosebib he decided there wasnt anything he could do about it. He spent 2 hours at Home Depot getting parts to replumb the drain line and charged me $60 for the time. When I went into the crawl space to look at the sump pump drain I discovered that he had just added a new drain line but had not capped the old drain. The connection to the new drain line that he had just installed leaked. I had him come back the following week to cap the old line and repair the leak in the new line for which he charged me an additional $32. The work wasnt bad as long as you kept an eye on things and pointed out the flaws.
Response from Johnathan Enterprises
"I was asked to give an estimate for 2 holes in the wall, 1 in the ceiling, a leaking pressure relief valve, and outside hose bib. I replaced the pressure relief valve. We looked at the hose bib. There was no access to it. I told him I would have to make hole in the wall inside to get to it. He did not want me to do that. I said I would fix the holes that he wanted patched. He did not want me to do that. He then asked me to make a drain line for him. We had not talked about this and it was not part of the estimate. I did not have the parts on hand to do this. Yes there were 2 trips to Home Depot, but I only charged him 1/2 my normal hourly rate for that time. The second day I worked I only charged him $2.00 for the part, and $30.00 for 1/2-hour labor. I have a 1-hour minimum charge. Over all I lost $90.00 in labor plus parts I purchased to fix the holes. I completed the work on 5/28/10. His review was posted 7/23/10. I think that the Member's appraisal of me is disappointing and unfair. Although I appreciate his business, I would not work for him again."
