"I was asked to give an estimate for 2 holes in the wall, 1 in the ceiling, a leaking pressure relief valve, and outside hose bib. I replaced the pressure relief valve. We looked at the hose bib. There was no access to it. I told him I would have to make hole in the wall inside to get to it. He did not want me to do that. I said I would fix the holes that he wanted patched. He did not want me to do that. He then asked me to make a drain line for him. We had not talked about this and it was not part of the estimate. I did not have the parts on hand to do this. Yes there were 2 trips to Home Depot, but I only charged him 1/2 my normal hourly rate for that time. The second day I worked I only charged him $2.00 for the part, and $30.00 for 1/2-hour labor. I have a 1-hour minimum charge. Over all I lost $90.00 in labor plus parts I purchased to fix the holes. I completed the work on 5/28/10. His review was posted 7/23/10. I think that the Member's appraisal of me is disappointing and unfair. Although I appreciate his business, I would not work for him again."
