the crew did a nice job. The trees look manicured, not scalped.

I had four trees in my backyard that I needed cut down. All the trees were close to either my house, my shed and/or my fence, so I wanted them removed with no or minimum damage to the surrounding property. Greatland removed all four trees, along with hauling away the debris. They also broke up/moved a small concrete slab. My backyard feels bigger and is more pleasant in the evenings.

They did a good job at a reasonable price. The other companies I dealt with gave me a bid close to and over $5000. The gentleman gave me the quote right then and there; I didn't have to wait for days. They were a professional and a friendly group of guys. They answered my every question and asked me how I wanted the trees to be cut down. They cleaned up after themselves and I was very happy with the service.

Prompt in scheduling an appointment and the estimator/bid person showed up on time. The estimator was very thorough in his bid; he didn't rush thru it and took time to understand what needed to be done. He had a bid for us that evening.
Greatland’s prices were competitive. Other bids for the same work ranged from $1250 to $1800 plus there was one slightly lower. The lower bid was incomplete; that particular company doesn't schedule appointments and just shows up and quot;wheneverand quot;, so they failed to find out what all needed to be done; we dismissed that bid since it didn't address all the work that needed to be performed plus they took more than 2 weeks to get their estimate to us.
We did not have to wait long for Greatland to schedule the tree removal; they were able to come out fairly quickly. We set up an appointment for about a week later, but they had some free time 2 days after we had called to accept the bid and came earlier. We appreciated them coming earlier rather than just waiting until our appointment time the next week.
The crew was polite and professional. They took time to ask how we wanted things done, what wood we wanted to keep, where to stack it, etc. They did a good job cleaning up after the trees were felled and cut. When we asked for a few more branches to come off a couple of trees, they readily took care of the additional limbs. The only unusual thing was that they didn't have a wheel barrel to move the larger logs to the stacking area. We let them use our old wheel barrel that isn't too large, but at least it was available. It seemed odd that they didn't have that piece of equipment with them to help transport heavier logs. Perhaps they just forgot theirs.
They chipped limbs and removed the chipped material. The logs were stacked very neatly in the area we had cleared for our wood pile. We had some very, very large logs, so it was a lot of heavy work to stack them.
They were all very positive, friendly, and nice folks to work with. Everyone on their crew was very easy going and easy to talk to. We were pleased. We appreciated how responsive they were during the entire process from start to finish. We would hire them again if more trees needed to be cut or topped

There are several key reasons I will do business with Greatland again. 1) Followup to win the bid and set the service date was meticulous--I wasn't left wondering if they wanted the job. They did and it showed. 2) Punctual: They showed up for the job exactly when they said they would. 3) Competitively price. 4) They did a fantastic job of cleaning up all tree debris.

I found everyone at Greatland very professional. I will always recommend them, and if I need any tree service in the future, they are the ones I will call.

I was finishing up getting bids to cut down a large diameter (30+and quot;) spruce tree (~40' tall) bordered by a fence on two sides (within 3') and a garage on the other side 10' away. The owner came by to check the tree out, gave me the bid, and asked when I wanted in down. I joking said this afternoon, but not expecting the job to be done until sometime later the following week. The owner called back a short time later and said he and his son would be over in an hour. They cut off the branches into a pile around the base of the tree, cut the tree down in manageable chunks that were dropped to the ground on top of the branches from the boom truck, cut up the chunks into manageable lengths (left for me to deal with which was part of the bid), and the limbs chipped into his truck in a little over 1.5 hours. Needless to say, I helped haul the limbs for chipping too. They raked and swept up the remaining needles and small branches when they were done with chipping.
Great job and would recommend them and/or use again if needed. A later wind storm took down our other large trees in the fall, so won't be needing them in the future, but have recommended them to others.
