Larry, the owner of Great Blue was referred to me by Summit Windows. Summit sells primarily vinyl windows, but is, as far as I know, the only manufacturer of wood windows locally. Turns out their experience was with vinyl windows. Anyway the wood window prep was poor. A majority of the putty where wood meets glass was not removed before painting. So now you have painted putty which is harder to remove. I felt like work was done at the last minute, which made the task of removal more difficult and not as finished looking. The paint portion of the job was about $1000.00. I am still going to have to pay someone a small amount to correct plus I am removing what they didn't. One section of casing is off about a 1/4" in 42". I left the decision to correct it with him. He opted not too. Then they billed me over the estimate, and no part of the job changed. He then agreed to the estimate amount, and I paid it, because I agreed to that price up front. I am disappointed that excuses were made for prep, not acknowledgment and correction. I've been self employed for over 30 years, I know what customer service is. Bottom line, ask if they would verify their experience for your project. At least now they have wooden window experience.
