Even the driver who gave me a ride home was friendly, intelligent and interesting.
The car was ready a day earlier than they had originally estimated, and it looked amazing. The color match was perfect (to my eye). What's more, they had washed the exterior, re-seated a windshield rubber gasket, and -- most amazingly-- completely detailed the interior, which my teenage daughter had left a total mess-- all free of charge!
Later, I received a call asking whether I was satisfied with their work, and would i recommend them to others. I answered both with a resounding YES, and so I am indeed recommending them to you.
When I brought my vehicle in I was met by an appraiser who evaluated the truck and documented the damage. He found an out of alignment tailgate which I was unaware of. He explained the process clearly. We detailed a timeline for completion (this was meet exactly as promised).
Once the evaluation was completed he took me to another desk where the rental car agent was. She signed me into a full sized truck for the duration of the repair. I paid nothing.
I received daily text informing me of the status of my vehicles repair. I was called to pick up my truck on the exact day promised. I arrived to meet a professional and cheerful agent who explained the warranty and status of all repairs. Paperwork explaining what was replaced was provided to me. I turned in my rental truck to her and went out to examine my truck.
The quality of the repairs is impressive. They replaced multiple parts instead of simply bondo and repainting. It looks showroom quality and I am absolutely satisfied with the entire experience. It was bizarre in that I had expected to have such problems with this process yet none were had. I am very grateful.
I recommend this business without reservation.
My car was ready the next day. The bumper looked great, almost like new. The door did not. The quality of the paint job was terrible, with visible bubbles, defects and an orange peel texture at the perimeter. In addition, there was tape left in the door jambs, and they failed to properly reattach the interior panel of the front door, which left a visible gap. I complained and the manager came out and agreed to redo it. Car was ready 4 days later. It was much improved, but not spectacular. Especially compared with the work on the bumper which was really exceptional.
The service people I dealt with were very nice, and it didn't seem like the typical body shop. But obviously the quality of the work was mixed, and my sense is that they made a mistake repairing the door, and it was this mistake that necessitated painting the front door. Frustrating that they passed this cost onto me, and also frustrating that they would send the car out in the condition they did the first time. To their credit, they were very courteous about redoing the poor work on the door. Driven was recommended by a friend who had very good work done by them, so it seems like they might have some quality control issues.
Cannot see damage, paints match. Will have to wait to buff out, but paint/finish match seems excellent.
Did what they were supposed to do for less money.
*** As a follow up worth mentioning, I have returned to Driven Auto twice in the last year and a year later to have them take care of a piece related to the work that was done originally. One was the bottom trim on the drivers door had lost its adhesion and the other was a touch up on a very small imperfection that I just couldn't live with. They gladly and quickly accepted the work free of charge and without question. I was in and out of the shop in under and hour on both occasions with the work completed to perfection. They were as courteous and professional as they were a year ago.***
The Initial inspection was made together with a Driven Auto
representative on a walk around of the vehicle. The inspection was
talked through in detail. He told me what pieces would need to be
removed for proper replacement, what seals and decals would need to be
replaced and what could be reused and the time involved in each
process. After the walk through I had a clear idea of exactly what was
going to be done from start to finish.
The estimate was done on
the spot within about 20 minutes. I had damage to both drivers and
passenger side door panels and requested an estimate for both sides at
around $3200. I took the estimate home to think it over and shop
around. I did find a few shops that could beat the price, but the
estimates were not as detailed and to tell you the truth, for whatever
it's worth, I just got good vibes from Driven. They were not at all
pushy. In fact they encouraged me to take the estimate home and think
about it.
Despite the higher price tag, I ended up going with Driven Auto because:
1. They showed respect for my time with a quick, yet detailed estimate and
explanation. The receptionist was courteous and got me to the correct
personnel quickly.
2. They promised a timeline for parts ordered and repair time. (Both of which were over estimated. The parts were to
arrive within 14 days. They arrived in six. The labor was to take up to 5 days, it took two.)
3. The paperwork was completed quickly and with a detailed price breakdown.
4. They run a very clean shop.
If I were to give any advice should you choose Driven Auto and would like
to rent a car from the Enterprise rental that is onsite, do not wait to
rent a car on the morning that you drop off your vehicle for repair. I
walked 7 miles to work faster that it would have taken me to get a car
that morning. I don't know it it was an unusually busy day, but there were approximately 10 people renting a car
that morning and one attendant. I did not bother waiting.
In the end, I was impressed at the efficiency, quality and no nonsense,
respectable approach to the entire process. The finished product was practically
flawless. I really did scrutinize the repair and found it difficult to
find any imperfections even knowing exactly what they had replaced.
It's been 4 months since the repairs were made and I still could not be
happier.
Also, the interior was cleaner when I picked it up
than when I brought it in and the exterior as well. They even Armour
All'ed the dash and vacuumed the cracker crums out of my children's car
seats.
