At first and throughout the process they were professional and prompt. The problem is that instead of cleaning up after themselves they left my house in shambles. They disconnected my dishwasher not only the plug in but the hoses under the sink were disconnected. For no reason. The dishwasher did not in any way interfere with drying the wall and did not need to be disconnected. They also removed my trim from the window and disconnected my light fixture. They left their taped floor covering on the floor, the crawl space open and they even left their own power cord that they didn't bother to pick up. The place was such a mess it's no wonder they didn't notice it on the floor. When I called them about the mess they were like didn't you hire someone to clean up? I'm like no!! I hired someone to repair the drywall you drilled holes in not to put the furniture back and reconnect my dishwasher. Let's just say it was a very unsatisfactory conversation.

They stripped the floor, ripped out the cupboards, and went above and beyond what I expected. They were very conscientious with all personal belongings. They stayed in communication with me which is really important. Andy was the one heading up the project.

It went great. We called them first thing in the morning and they came right over and got right to work. They didn't quit until the job was complete. We were Extremely happy with everything and the professionalism and friendliness.

We had a hose burst on our hot water heater which flooded our basement (movie room and kids playroom) with roughly 2and quot; of water. They promptly sent a representative to assess and begin work, who called the necessary people to come help. The quickly removed the water, moved all of my stuff upstairs, removed all the doors and molding, and set up more than enough blowers and dehumidifiers to get the job done. They checked on the work daily, and continuously asked if there was more that they could do to help. They were clean, courteous, and extremely efficient and helpful- I couldn't have asked for more. Andy was especially helpful- he advised us on what should and could be claimed for insurance coverage, and worked with us so that their price didn't exceed our coverage. I couldn't have been happier, and recommend them without reservation. I would gladly use their services again in the event of another water-damage event.

We purchased our home, which was a pre-forclosure, and came into it to have the gas checked and that's when we discovered water running from one side of the kitchen to the other (first time buyers nightmare). It ended up going down the wall downstairs too. Dry Out Systems came in and helped not with just all of the physical assistance, but assisted with giving us confidence in the process. They were excellent and not only will I call them again, but I have referred them to several other friends in their time of 'emergency' needs. As long as I live in Alaska they will be my first call for all of our water damage needs.

Bo came and inspected the property while I was out of town, explained over the phone what needed to be done. I called the insurance co. They recommended a preferred company, However I stayed with Dry Out. Bo and his crew did minimal demo and was able to dry the house using their equipment. House was dry and they recommended Leading Edge Construction to completed the repairs needed. They are Great Too!! Everything was completed within 3 weeks. They did scare me when they said it could take 2 months. Bo said he says that to every customer in order to prepare for the worst.

I had a water leak in my laundry room and called my insurance company. The insurance company said it was not covered.
I found Dry Out Systems of Alaska through a friend, they came in and took a look at my water damage and mold issue. After talking with me they said that it should be covered by my insurance. They placed equipment and signed me up, with a contingency that if it was not covered that the first 3 days would be free. They called and said they and an insurance adjuster would be coming out the next day. Andy talked with the adjuster and was able to show that the loss was covered with the exception of the mold. Dry Out Systems billed for what they could, and didn't charge for the mold cleanup. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. Dry Out Systems informed me of all the money that I should be reimbursed for: (electric bill, labor I did, personal items lost, etc.). Once all the clean up work was complete, they advised me on companies to do the repairs, or to do them myself. I asked why they didn't provide this service. Their response completely made sense, it is a conflict of interest. If they got paid to do repairs then the could dry for several days, then tear out the structure they dried and double dip.

They were very friendly, and responded very fast. The pipes had frozen and caused water damage. Time is of the essence in these situations especially when it's a rental. I was amazed at how fast the unit got turned around. They handled the water clean up and lined up the rest of the contractors to get everything else fixed so the renter could come back home.

I do not recommend Dry Out Systems for ANY work in your home. Shortly before the holidays there was a blockage in my sewer system which caused damage to roughly 30 square feet of my one bedroom apartment. Dry Out Systems were speedy to come and give a price quote and time frame for completion. They missed their mark by 6 weeks. This small area of damage took nearly 3 months for Dry Out Services to complete...and I had to find other accommodations in the meantime. They never gave reasons for the delay in work. I cannot speak to cost because my landlord's insurance paid for their services, however 3 months of contractor work is not usually cheap. They were careless with my furniture and other belongings during their work. There was nothing major, so I didn't bother to report it. It was annoying to FINALLY get to move home only to find chips in recently purchased furniture and broken glass in framed artwork. If you have emergency damage to your home, please look into other more reputable companies.
Response from Dry Out Systems of Alaska
"Dry Out Systems of Alaska does not do repair work, and will advise the customer to obtain a contractor for repairs. We have notes that reflect what was done on the job and when it was completed. If there were delays, the repair contractor would have advised the owner/and or tenant of any such delays. We at Dry Out Systems of Alaska put our customer’s first and work with each of our customers throughout the process to insure they understand the process and that we address each of their questions and/or concerns immediately. It is unfortunate that this tenant felt it necessary to post a comment two years after the job was completed making it impossible for Dry Out Systems of Alaska to assist in addressing any issues."

The guys did what I wanted them to do when I need it done. That to me is the most important part of all this.

We contacted the company on MondayAM and someone was out to inspect our crawlspace that afternoon. Technician was very knowledgeble and helpful explaining further recommended clean up actions. We were told an estimate would be ready by the end of that week (Friday). We ended up calling the company on Friday, Monday and then again on Wednesday to finally get our estimate. Estimate was ready on Thursday (4 business days after we were told it would be ready). This was probably the biggest complaint I had with the company. Timeliness of their estimate and getting to the job was not what I would have expected from a company who handles emergency response type of problems. We were not an emergency response situation- some clean up had been done by us- but we were experiencing musty odors coming up from crawl space and we wanted it resolved quickly.
Work was completed in a professional manner. We had an issue with one technician who tracked mud onto my carpet (apparently he did not follow company procedures, which is to cover carpet areas with plastic) and who did some sloppy work in the crawl space (vapor barrier was not installed right). However, company quickly resolved this issue by sending out another technician, who did an excellent job correcting previous technician's mistake including cleaning my carpets.
Overall I give them a B. Some bumpy spots in resolving our problem, but in the end we are satisfied with a clean smelling and professionally cleaned crawl space.

Over all I still give them a C rating because: Although their workers were cheerful and pleasant and on time, they told me they would be removing the insulation and vapor barrier and taking it with them to be disposed of and they did the first time. When they came back to replace them they put the left-overs in my neighbor's dumpster, causing him to complain. They should have asked where they could dispose of the trash.
Response from Dry Out Systems of Alaska
"Dry Out Systems of Alaska does not do any type of plumbing or installation of sump pumps. A separate contractor must have been hired to install it. Any repercussions from a poor installation of a sump pump could not have come from the water extraction services that our company provides. We will be in contact immediately with this client to ascertain the client immediately as crawl space extraction does not cause sewer back up."
