Although there was a slight confusion on time of estimate, the consultation was friendly, quick, and efficient. The written estimate was provided within a couple of weeks, placed on my door. It was very reasonable.

The crew did not have the experience and knowledge to do the work properly without supervision and they didn't received adequate supervision. So many things were done poorly, and had to be corrected the next day, after I reported them to the supervisor. As I have worked to finish the project I keep finding things that were not done properly and I have to re-do them. I paid them to do it, so I wouldn't have to do it, and yet I'm still doing them.
I finally contacted them after repairing so many problems myself and was promised a fix to the remaining problems, but haven't heard from them since. The whole experience with Crighton was infuriating.

Crighton & Cooper removed the existing beam and installed a 22' steel beam -- the maximum that we could get into the house. Kirk and his crew were courteous and communicated well. They worked at our house what I consider to be reasonable times of the day, 9am-4pm. I felt comfortable setting a code for them on the door keypad so they could come and go as needed. The project took a little longer than originally quoted (3 weeks, rather than 2), but for justifiable reasons and I've accepted that home improvements usually take longer than expected. Delays and timing were well-communicated. I appreciated that the quote included texturing and priming the entire basement ceiling for continuity. Kirk was also happy to accommodate scope changes for some finish work. Also, there was some damage to walls and a door, which were repaired/replaced by Crighton & Cooper. We would hire Crighton & Cooper again.

Quickly responsive to initial inquiry, supplied a very reasonable estimate, work was performed as scheduled, to budget, and is quite satisfactory. Workers arrived on the site promptly each day, were polite and professional and left the area tidy at the end of work days. I was particularly grateful that they could take on the job, as I contacted them mid-summer when they already had a pretty full schedule.

We will definitely hire Kirk again. He had the estimate done when promised and showed up to work exactly when he said he would. Each and every day their work area was left as neat as a remodel can be. He communicated with us very well and is easy to work with. Even though our flooring was late in arriving Kirk was able to work around it and never got upset. He made suggestions to improve our remodel and as a result our downstairs bathroom is absolutely beautiful! We intend to also remodel the upstairs bathroom and Kirk will be our contractor of choice.

Kirk and crew were good about working in my home and sensitive to our wishes and helpful about advice on what we should do. My deck looks great and I even had another contractor comment on how good it looked and inquired about using Kirk. The fencing job they did was excellent and they have made my house look much better.

After 3 weeks had passed and no word from him, we contacted him by leaving a message. He responded a week later saying that he would have everything complete by the following week. That week came and went. I called and left a message 3 days ago and still have not heard anything. If Kirk is behind on lots of projects that's fine, but better communication would prevent the frustration that we are experiencing, considering we already paid for the design service.
Update to above posting: Kirk eventually contacted us and was able to furnish plans for the design which were very detailed. Due to lack of responsiveness and punctuality, we are giving him a C because we found this to be unprofessional. However when he did come around with the designs, it was nicely laid out so we give him a B for that.

I purchased getting a bid for work to be done on one room in my home. After initial contact it took quite a while for him to set up an appointment to review work; the promised bid was forth coming timely after that. It was extremely high so we elected not to use his services. Very pleasant gentleman. Respectful of our home and after initial lapse of contact, very punctual.

Took them 3-4 days. They were working constantly and cleaned up after themselves. Very pleasant to deal with and flexible. Kept cost low as possible. The deck is beautiful and the boardwalk is amazing.

"[Member Name Removed] project needed to be completed in a timely manner due to sale of the home, it was a fairly straight forward project and we wanted to accommodate her schedule considering the sale. We sometimes have left over material due to stock lumber sizes and pattern usage. We were able to use those materials to install the boardwalk which was need due t seasonal springs in the yard. We were able to use this leftover material , make the project " whole" and not throw away materials."

I am so happy with my master bath remodel that I will be using this contractor to remodel my downstairs. Contractor's bid was competitive. Contractor was diligent, and the high quality work was performed timely and professionally. What I am was most pleased with was Kirk Crighton's eye for detail and design. His suggestions turned a basic bathroom into a work of art. He handled change orders well, and offered little extra touches, like building me a small stepstool so I can reach the upper cabinets. Contractor also accommodated my requests for extra storage, building open shelving and a spare closet in an adjoining bathroom, both of which were add-ons to the original scope of work. Starting a remodel is a daunting prospect, but Kirk made the process much easier for my family, and I look forward to working with him again.

The contractor listened closely to what was needed and provided quotes and estimates exactly aligned with the requested work. All work was timely and professionally finished. When a request for a modification was proposed, the changes were incorporated afford-ably and quickly. The deck has made the yard enjoyable and functional. The house is much warmer in winter and the views are better! Great experienced carpenter who I would hire again.

Initially discovered that my roof was leaking into the house where the fireplace used to be (prior owner had removed it). I spent hours calling different roofing repair businesses that supposedly provided "24/7" emergency services. Most of them never returned the calls I left on their answering machines and the 1 that did basically told me "tough luck". Getting desperate I remembered seeing an advertisement for Angie's List and one of the contractors that came up on the website that I hadnt previously attempted calling was Crighton & Cooper Constructiion & Design.
Mr. Crighton answered his phone right away (unlike all the other businesses I had previously called) and came out the next day (on a Sunday no less - who could ask for more). He promptly took a look at the roof, gave me a verbal estimate that he stuck to and the work was completed I believe on Wednesday of the next week.
I wasnt present when they came out, but my Wife was impressed by the speed, efficiency and courtesy of the individuals.who came to fix our roof.
I am very impressed with the courtesy, service and over all helpfulness of Mr. Crighton and his crew. I will definitely contact them a
again, and plan on contracting them to rebuild my roof next summer.

I really liked them because they were pretty good. What was good about them was their responsiveness, they came over right away. They fixed everything, and it was a professional statement of work. They gave us an invoice right away, and it was professionally generated. The individual that came over was very courteous and professional as well.

The project went as predicted and we were very happy with it. They arrived when they said they would unless they were going to be a little late and then they would call to tell us when to expect them. . They were very professional and we are very happy with the job they did for us.
