It's hard to know how to rate this company. They replaced our roof a few years ago, and although the owner was contemptuous of us, seemed to have anger issues with his employees, and communicated poorly, the work was done neatly, on time, on budget, and seemingly very well. During unusual weather in 2021, water intrusion problems developed that may have been related to unique roof vent installation when they did the work. We made a friendly request for them to come back ON A PAYING BASIS to evaluate and see if they could fix the problem. This led to a bizarre explosion from the owner and an angry refusal to assist.

Good workmanship. The materials used were of good quality (I cross-checked with local hardware stores). A cursory check of whatever code compliance that I was able to observe were done appropriately. Scott Cross, the Project Manager, was very well knowledgeable and accommodating. Scott made sure that the project was completed per my satisfaction before even asked to be paid. The installation crew was also quite professional and polite. Yes – I would use their service again.

Mr. Cross was professional and knowledgeable about roofing.

My girlfriend and I own a duplex in South Anchorage.  It was built in 1978 and had the original shingles on it.  We are doing the energy rebate program and did not know what kind of insulation was in our roof as we have high ceilings with no attic and no entry to the space between the ceiling and roof.  The total duplex is 2600 sq ft, so I think the roof is around 1,300-1,500 sq ft.
Scott came out and gave us a bid of  $5,700 to replace our old roof with Owen's Corning True Definition Duration Shingles and to add a ridge vent as our old roof did not have one.  To put this in perspective, we got a bid from one of the big companies in town for $10,800 for the same work with a Malarkey 3 tab shingle and another bid from another smaller company for $7,000 for installing a 35 year architectural shingle.  Scott isn't quite like the other companies though, as he doesn't provide an in writing warranty and wasn't very formal with any part of the bidding process or during the work.  He described himself as being from Anchorage and he plans on staying here and said he would help us with any problems in the future should they come up.  
After accepting Scott's bid I didn't hear from him for two weeks.  Then I got a text on a Sunday night asking if he could start the next day.  I gave him the green light, but was worried b/c he didn't even know what color shingle we wanted at that point.  I called him in the morning to find out what his timeline was and to let him know I wanted to be involved with any decisions about replacing decking or redoing insulation.  He assured me that I would be, but I didn't quite believe him at that point.  
Scott definitely won me over after his first day at our house!  I got home from work and he and one other worker had the old roof off.  The yard was cleaned and he pulled some of the decking off of the roof to show me what the insulation looked like.  He showed me spots where we could see straight to the vapor barrier/ceiling and also how the old baffling was not allowing air to get into the attic space.  He gave me a bid the next day to rearrange the old insulation, redo the baffling, and blow in more insulation to cover everything.
They had everything done within a couple of days and kept me informed of everything that was happening, including bringing me up on the roof to show me the work.  Scott and his 2 workers were always friendly and kept our yard cleaned up.  From what I can tell, Scott is a very hard working and honest guy.  Our roof has only been on a week, so I can't speak to the quality yet, but the roof looks great and from what I've seen I would recommend Coho Roofing to any friends or family replacing their roof.

I could not be happier with the work that Coho performed. My roof looks amazing and they completed the work in just over three days despite very hot temperatures. The entire crew was very professional and took care to not damage the lawn or our plants. I chose Coho based on a few reviews here on AL stating that his quotes were much lower than other companies. Coho was significantly lower than 4 other bids and Scott stuck to that quote, with a couple small additions that I approved beforehand.
I would not hesitate to recommend Coho to anyone.

After getting estimates from several companies, we decided to have Coho Roofing and Contracting work on our roof, which was over 30 years old, had mold on it, and showed signs of needing new fascia and possibly plywood.  The work was done in a very courteous and professional manner, from the initial estimate to completion of the work.  We have had no leaks or problems with the roof.  
In 2012 we had a question about water that was coming in around our above-stove microwave after a very heavy snowfall, called them, and they were very good about helping us determine that it was not a problem with the roof, but was melting snow that had gotten into a vent pipe during that major snowfall year.
We are very satisfied with our new roof, and our interactions in general with Coho Roofing and Contracting, and highly recommend them.

They did a fantastic job and were substantially cheaper (as in over $2000 dollars cheaper) than any of our other bids.  Many of the roofers that I had called didn't even bother calling back.  This company was always prompt when returning our calls.  I would highly recommend this company.  My only hesitation would be that the owner got a little grumpy  and was thus gruff on the job a few times, which might offend those with a sensitive nature.  Personally, I really couldn't hold that against him considering the conditions the poor guy was working in...  I would have been grumpy too.    All other times he was very friendly and seemed like a nice guy.   He even brought us some of his amazing Salmon. 

As for the job... it looked great and was done quickly considering the weather.  As of a year later, no problems with our new roof.
