Chimney Doctor

I have written hundreds of reviews and 95% of them are totally positive, encouraging and uplifting. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company. Two years ago we had 2 Beautiful Gas fireplace installations done by the Chimney Doctor. It was spendy but we’ve enjoyed the ambience and beauty that these installations have provided to our home and felt it was worth it. Furthermore, I have told many of my friends about this company and they also had good customer service and results, at least up until September 2020. Until that time, I believe the chimney doctor was under different ownership. Beginning in September 2020, my fireplace upstairs stopped working. It was determined that we needed an igniter. I begin calling immediately to have this issue fixed and scheduled. After over 20 phone calls over the course of several months, I finally received a call from the new owner who profusely apologized for his lack of follow through and promised that he would personally be to my home the next day to fix it. That was over a month ago. I have finally found someone else who can do the repairs and the necessary part should be here soon (my new contractor communicated this information via text as soon as he ordered it). I write this review because I truly want people to avoid the aggravation and frustration associated with a business that does not treat their customers in a respectful and considerate manner. If you would like the name of my new contractor, feel free to Google message me. I do not recommend the chimney doctor to anyone any longer.

Not well. First when they ordered the fireplace doors they ordered the wrong size and it took 2 months for them to bring them out to install. They did reorder the correct size as they confirmed the owner who took the measurements submitted the wrong measurements. They reordered the correct size and it took another two months when I called to say I was getting impatient with how long it was taking, the receptionist got very snippy and ****** that I would even say anything. When they finally came out 4 months after my original order and installed all they did was complain about how they had to eat the cost of the original doors. I had to call several times during the LONG wait to get the status of my doors. Customer service is not in this groups purview at all. I would not work with them again.

They fit us in right away and charged about the same as the building contractor, who had done other work for us, clean the chimney and replace the cap. As a result we had no draft at all. It was the wrong cap. Chimney Doctor sent us a certified professional. The new cap is correct for this stove. We also had them inspect the flue- I wasn't sure the other guy had done anything.

Smooth. Honest.

It was great to have peace of mind and for an affordable price. I will use them again when it needs to be done.

The gentleman that came to our house was polite, professional, and engaging. I appreciated his patience with any questions that we had.

Was awesome and did the inspection the same day. I would extremely highly recommend him.
