It is a long wait to get an appointment. Their website for booking is a little confusing.

They are expensive but professional so I prefer them. I have used some other people that I didn’t like. It just wasn’t clean or professional so I only use them now.

Tried Allure spa due to proximity from my house. The Vichy shower was great - highly touted as the only one in AK. Nice and relaxing.
The mani and pedi not so. It was mid rate. The girls were not overly friendly and poor value for the exorbitant price (even for AK).
Brazilian wax was painless. She was extremely efficient. I've been waxing for 10+ years so I know what I'm talking about. Quick and efficient.
The girls up front are not that courteous - a bit standoffish.

It was okay, but I really wasn't impressed with what they offered because they offered nothing more than your regular day spa. They dropped me a little while in the waiting room; I didn't think it catered to the atmosphere they try to portray. They try to portray above the top world-class service and I just didn't feel that I got it. I felt that they kind of just went on with their day and were more interested in what they were doing. I did not think it was a special environment. There was gossip going on in the back while I was trying to go over some information with my provider and she kept chiming in on the gossip, so it was somewhat unprofessional. I don't think their pricing was very appropriate. It was all trials, but yet I was charged the full price. They also forgot about me.

It was great. The girl who scheduled the appointment was very nice, as were the front desk staff and massage therapist. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the massage was excellent. The prices weren't bad for the massages either.

Allure Day Spa makes an impression the minute you walk in the door. The ambiance and decor is calm and appealing. The staff provide a warm welcome and immediately direct you to the changing rooms so you can start relaxing. The spa robes are comfortable and provide enough coverage for modesty while you wait in the lounge. We were called for our approintments right on time. The massage room is peaceful with warm linens and relaxing music. My massage therapist took a moment to tell me to get comfortable on the table and asked about any problem areas or special requests. She disappeared briefly while I disrobed. When she returned she quietly and expertly went to work, giving me a full and totally relaxing massage. I'm a bit modest and the massage therapist are always professional and make me feel comfortable. When my massage was complete, she quietly told me to take my time and get up when I was ready. She met me at the door with a glass of cold water and a reminder to drink plenty of water to help flush my system of anything released during my massage. Afterwards, we sat in the lounge in our robes, just enjoying the environment and feeling very mellow.
I've been to other day spas in Anchorage and while they are nice, I remain partial to Allure. The whole experience from start to finish leaves me feeling so very good.

The facility is beautiful and furnished very well, but the pedicure room could use a redesign. I found that the nail technicians were friendly enough, but the quality of the pedicure was lacking. There was nothing done for calluses beyond regular lotion, and the pedicure didn't even last a week before it chipped off. The worst part of this place is the price and the attitude at checkout. Including a tip, it was $90 for a normal pedicure. No tips, no extra designs, nothing! So after my gift card I paid $40 out of pocket, and I can get a great pedicure at Ivy Nails for $45, where they'll take care of my calluses too! The girl at checkout said a bit snidely "JUST a pedicure today?" Um, yeah! I'd need special financing to afford anything beyond that!

I had no problems. It was a good experience. Their price was reasonable. They treat you very nicely. They give you anything you want. They're just really good.

I attempted to make a massage appointment on 3 different occasions with an independent masseuse only to be stood up at our appointment. Finally fed up, I decided to book a massage at Allure. They are more expensive than other places, but I find that I can get a good deal by buying the gift certificates from Costco and using them. If you buy 2 $100 gift cards, it only costs you $80. My massage experience was great from the moment I walked in until I left. They are on point with their scheduling and run a very professional business. I would go back just because I know I can count on the services here. I guess you get what you pay for. Anchorage is a small town and there are many companies that try to offer the same service. Go with a company that is legit and stands by customer service.

I would not recommend Allure for manis and pedis. I have had one medium mani there and one bad one, and one good pedi and one bad one ... four different people. There is no quality control. It is too expensive to take a chance. For these services I will go back to the Nail Pro salon in University Mall.

I am glad I went to Allure under the circumstances but they do seem overpriced. I got lucky and got a stylist named Jenna who was very nice. She did a good job on my hair and an ok job on my makeup. I have some more gift card money left over and I plan to ask for her to do my hair again.
I was dissapointed that they did not have a very good selection of colors for makeup (there were no eye shadow colors I liked out of the few I had to choose from). They also didn't even have an eye lash curler!! I know there are sanitation issues involved, but for $200 for an updo and makeup (no hair wash or cut), I would think they could at least curl your eye lashes!! Luckily I had my own curler in my purse so we used that.
I had to touch up my makeup by the time I got home. It never would have lasted through the ceremony. So I added some of my own concealer and powder on top of what she had already done and also changed my eye shadow some.
I would feel comfortable going there to have my hair done, but I will definitly not have makeup done there and would not take a chance on nails.

I went in to have my hair styled because that is what their name implies. The hair "stylist" asked me what I wanted and I asked what she thought would look good on me. She proceeded to suggest nothing and be completely unhelpful as if she did not care if she cut my hair or not. I finally tried to tell her about the last hair style I got and that I liked and she stated she could follow the lines of my last cut then. I was pretty much done at that point and should have left but I came in for a style so I told her to go ahead. She simply trimmed my hair, blow dried it a bit with no styling and then charged me about $135.00. She gave me her card and said "if you ever what to come back again". Needless to say when I left I threw her card straight int he trash. I told a few friends what I paid for my new hair cut and they looked at me and said I was robbed. I then told them where I got it at and they all just shook their head. I will never go back.

"I am very sorry to hear of your experience with us! I even have a hard time seeing how you were charged so much for a haircut. Did you have color as well? I'm sure had we known of your experience back then we would have made an effort to rectify it in some way. If you'd contact me directly at the salon 907-258-1122 I'd love to try to make this right for you.. Sincerely, Megan Kordus General Manager"

We scheduled our appointment about 2 weeks in advance and when we showed up two of us got started and then the other two weren't started for a for a good 15 minutes so when the first two got done they had to wait at least that long for the others to get done. Apparently there was some walk ins that had come in before us and had put them behind for our scheduled appointments. In addition to that when they did seat us they put one person on the very end of their chairs and the rest of us at the other end so we weren't all together even though they knew we were together. It was just kind of weird. They weren't exactly consistent either, some of us got a cooling mask and others didn't, some people got longer/better massages, it wasn't a completely bad service, it just wasn't the best service or pedicure I have received. There are a couple places in town that provide better pedicures for a lot less expensive. I would return and have services performed again, but I guess I just wouldn't have as high of expectations of a place that is seemingly of a higher caliber spa. It really just seemed like they were over charging for the service provided, and I wasn't impressed. A couple things I did like about the experience was that the spa was very clean and some of the staff had good customer service. I guess it is a place that is meant for people who can afford to go there. The parking situation isn't really good either because if you do go during the week there isn't any free customer parking since they are downtown.

Amber was awesome! She is very professional but still makes you feel comfortable. It was my first time receiving a facial and it was completely worth it. The atmosphere and the facial are very relaxing and soothing. After she was finished she was able to educate me on what products would help my skin, and what facial would be best for me in the future. She is very knowledgeable in what she does and in their products. I will definitely be going back for another.
