Accessible homes inc owner Gary Sloane & Rena Sloane / Vargas are joint Business owners who have a record of taking advantage of elderly men and women. Within The past year accessible homes, Inc., which was located in Anchorage was recently closed down after Gary Sloan was issued a stocking protective order on one of the elderly individuals Home that he previously did work for. There was a STOP work order after Accessible Homes inc did NOT follow municipality rules and obtain proper permits before working on the property. Please refer to Alaska court Records verification. They have had multiple business names and have set up an irrevocable Trust through Gordon Sloane in order to insure that when they are sued the plaintiffs will receive nothing because there business is in a irrevocable trust where there is little to NO assets or money to ensure the continual scamming that they have done for many years taking advantage of mostly elderly people. Be very cautious when dealing with Gary Sloane and Rena Vargas as they are sure to open up a different business using a different name as they have done so. Please refer to Alaska court records

"The [Member Name Removed]'s, Hired us to do some porch railing and then it turned into a new deck with built in benched and privacy screens. After that we installed a new roof, new seamless rain gutters, fixed and re-stained their fences, Painted the whole home and shed then remodeled a bathroom. We really enjoyed working with the [Member Name Removed]'s, I'm quite surprised at the grade they gave us for responsiveness, their project just kept growing and we responded to their request's as fast as possible, but we did have other commitments that were on the schedule that we had to work around. If all the projects were planned up front we would have scheduled time for them all at once. Which in turn would have been a better responsiveness score. Overall I know they we're very pleased with our work and have referred us to their friends."

All in all, the job could be acceptable since it got done in a reasonable amount of time. But all of the caulking around the shower pan and through the bathroom has turned yellow and it shows the poorly and sloppily applied caulking better. Both vanities were built in their shop, but they forgot to cut the holes for the sinks and installed a center drawer. They had to remove the center drawer and cut the holes for the sinks adding another day to the project. The vanity doors and 2 drawers at the top extend all the way to the edge of the vanity. This created a problem by hit the door frame leading out of the bathroom so the drawer can't be opened more than 6 inches. Since it was all done under a grant we couldn't complain much. Not much response from company when I tried to contact them.
Their worker was punctual and worked by himself for the whole project. Which is probably the only plus to this project.

"This project for the member was a grant from the NeighborWorks senior grant program. As he explained the quality of materials for the grant program are determined by NeighborWork Anchorage and some are provide by them or as in the Cabinets they were made by their cabinet vendor Kodiak Cabinets. As for his comments on the caulking it was a GE product that is speced out by NeighborWorks, as we don't agree with some of the product choices we choose to do work for NeighborWorks as this is a very needed program in our community and it does not cost the customer anything ITS FREE! To address his comments on sloppy work it, He has hired us a couple more times since then to do other work to his home such as windows, Trim work and Insulation so he must like our work why else would he call us back???"
