Teddy is a Chow/Collie mix who was extremely matted and shedding so much that he left a "yellow-hair road" for us to follow everywhere he went. He is very loving with us but he has not forgotten the abuse he suffered before my husband and I adopted him eleven years ago, and he is still fearful of strangers even after all that time. He needs patience, gentle handling and an experienced "dog person". I knew he would need to be sedated for grooming and I was sure Mary (the excellent groomer who also shaves my 2 Maine C*** cats twice a year!) would have to shave much of Teddy's gorgeous fur because of the terrible matting. But Mary was so gentle and patient - and is such an excellent groomer! - that Teddy let her brush the mats out and came home looking and feeling like a new dog!
My 3 cats all have LUTD and stress almost always triggers outbreaks. But when I finally got home and picked everyone up (freshly bathed and flea-free!) they were happy to see me but not at all stressed or traumatized at being away from home for so long. No medical emergencies came up during their stay but based on the way prior situations were handled at the clinic I would have had the utmost confidence in Dr. Amy and staff.
While I knew the bill would be high, it was less than I expected for everything that was done. I received a discount on the cats' boarding fee, was not charged office visit fees for examining and giving booster vaccinations to everyone, and Teddy's grooming fee was less than half of what I had been quoted. $1000 seems like a lot of money (and it is!) but it is far less than my prior vet would have charged for the same services.
From my experiences with Valley Vet Clinic, I recommend them to anyone with no hesitation!
