They showed up on time and gave us an estimate of 300.00 and five hours to complete the job. They arrived promptly and finished within time constraints and left. Job was done on a Friday so water board didn't turn on the water to the house until Monday. When the water was turned on, it became evident that they had not hooked up the new lines to the main as the main was shooting water directly into the basement. There was no shut off valve so my husband had to run out and have the water man turn off the water again. Called T&R immediately and they came out after finishing the job they were on and had to dig to get to the main and hook the pipes up. They also installed a shut off valve at the main then they left. The next day, the water company employee came and turned the water on. A few seconds after it came on, one of the elbows blew across the basement. My husband tried to turn off the water at the main but the handle would not turn. They'd somehow glued it so that it was not useable. We called them again and my husband had to leave a voicemail. Later in the day, I called and talked to the sister of one of the men and she stated that she couldn't reach them because they were out of the county to bid on a job. I expressed my unhappiness with the situation and she said she would send them asap. The day came and went and no plumbers showed up. In the meantime, having grown weary of being put off, I had my husband go to Lowe's and buy the appropriate primer and epoxy to put the elbow back on that had blown off. He reattached it and called the water board. They came and turned the water on and yet another elbow went flying on the opposite side of the basement. My husband went to turn the water off at the new (second) shut off valve and again, it would not budge and he had to run back outside and have the water company turn the water off. After the water was off, he reattached the elbow. When the plumbers, my husband had run to the store so I told them to just get me a working shut off valve and leave. I had sent these guys to Lowe's with a gift card that I had and on the rec't from their 2nd trip, I noticed after they'd gone that the first thing on the rec't was 2 sodas. There was also listed a mini-hack saw and epoxy (no primer, which is needed). I wouldn't mind buying a man a soda if he's working for me but I feel like he could have mentioned it. I also realize that a mini hack saw is not expensive but that should have been left with me since I paid for it. They told us they were trying to start a new business and we're both all about giving the small local businesses a chance but when we do, we expect them to work as if they want more jobs. We have weak floors that need reinforced, a bathroom remodeling, including installing a new 3 pc shower, window replacement, tree removal, pressure washing and a ton of painting that needs to be done. Guess who won't be called upon to do any of that work??
Description of Work: Hired them to replace plumbing and install shut off valves, including one at the main, in recently purchased home. Old plumbing had been ripped out by previous owners. Realized after sending this that I'd forgotten to mention that the cold and hot water faucets are opposite in our tub. Cold on left and Hot on right.
