Description of Work: The $40 fee for an arborist was totally worthless. It consisted of a 10-15 minute visit to look at 3 trees I wanted branches over the house removed. They would not cut the oak trees since it would be the wrong time of year, but they did take 3 very large branches off an elm tree and removed some dead branches from the oaks. When I asked Angie's list if the $40 would be applied to work done, the lady from Angie's List told me yes, they would apply it. When the arborist gave me the quote, I mentioned the $40, and he said he did not know anything about the Angie's List offers, but said it would be applied if that was the case. If I had known they would not apply this amount to my final bill, I would not have purchased this. The workers arrived early, setup and completed all work in less than 3 hours. They moved my bird feeders/poles and were very cordial, efficient and professional. My husband had to run out to tell them they were to leave the large logs, which management should have told them. They were also supposed to cut the logs to fireplace length, which they did not do. They stopped at the front door to say they were done, but as I had broken my toe, it took me a little time to get up and check the job, and they left quickly. We had 4-5 foot limbs that needed cutting up, which is very difficult for 2 senior citizens. It was also incredibly difficult to move them off the lawn so they would not kill the grass before we could cut them up. They did offer to come back and cut them up, but that was 2 weeks after they did the work, which would have given us dead grass if we would have left them sit for that long. |In summary, save your $40 unless you cannot tell the difference between a birch, oak or maple tree. Better yet, call another tree service with arborists and have them come out to give you a quote on work and let them tell you the difference.

Description of Work: I got the estimate and was told what would be done with trimming of my trees on 2 of my properties about 2 months before the work was actually done which I thought was way too long for me to wait. And then the actual trimming of the trees was not nearly enough from what we talked about at the sites. So it just seemed like a waste of a lot of my money

Description of Work: No service. I paid for an estimate on tree trimming and shrub trimming. When the man showed up he only estimated the trees and was in a grouchy mood. I called Hoppe and they set up two dates to give me an estimate on the bushes but no one showed up. I gave up and called another tree service. |They did do a great job the year before on taking down a pine tree and cleaning everything up. I don't know what happened to them in between!
