Hoppe Tree Service

I had called them and another company for estimates. Hoppe's estimate was more than twice as much as the other company for the exact same service. They were very nice and very professional. They were here on time and I don't have any bad things to say about them. The only reason I didn't use them is because of the price. He was, however, going to clean out my gutters for no charge.

As usual August Hoppe was easily available by phone. He always quickly arrives to survey the situation, makes suggestions, plans the project, supplies a clear and fair estimate, schedules the service and, right on time, his crews arrive and complete the work as previously discussed. No muss, no fuss, no unpredictable delays and, as always, highly professional, intelligent, and affable.

It's a really good tree service. I've been using them for quite a while and they are very good. They are reliable. They are good all around. I would be using them again in spring. I still haven't used them because it's still snowing here in Wisconsin. I use them every year and do things fairly on a regular basis. I have no complaints or concerns. They are forward and good. They show up when they say they are going to show up and they do what they say they are going to do. They are competitively priced. They've been good. They are proactive. They come and look at what needs to be done in terms of overall lawn care. They offer options in terms of what it is that I want to do to take care of things. There's no pressure. They give me the opportunity to do things as part of a whole package. Their price is fair. I've used them for a number of years and would continue to use them in the future.

It was a painless and professional process from start to finish. They arrived on time with a 3-man crew. Two men focused on removing the p**** willow tree in the back yard, ground out the stump & positioned the new tree. They called us outside for our perspective and approval on the final tree positioning. They also noted that removing an adjacent, overgrown arborvitae would provide the new tree with more space and sunlight. We agreed with their recommendation and they removed the arborvitae. One crew member trimmed the Norway maple in the front, using a lift bucket to reach the high branches. He showed us which branches he was planning to cut off so we knew what the tree shape would be in advance. All three cleaned up the yard and debris afterward, leaving only the new tree near the patio and the freshly trimmed Norway maple in front as any sign they had been there.

Received detailed estimate of work to be done by August Hoppe within two days of my call. Job was scheduled at my convenience. Crew arrived on date/time promised. Workers were very professional; had to do removal work in a very tight area near house and overhead wires. Did an excellent cleanup job at the end.

Very reasonably price ,knowledgeable, punctual & professional. I had the tree treatment done first. Very happy with service, so i decided to have the tree trimmed as well. Happy with that service too. Will continue to use them.

The company provided quick service after each snowfall of one inch or more. They did a thorough job each time. During the blizzard they removed all of the snow from the driveway and a path from the back door (which was snowed shut) in the morning. They came back in the afternoon to clear the front sidewalks. The next day they removed the hugh pile of snow in the back. I was impressed with their promptness and workman ship. I hope to hire them next year.

We spent $250 or less on that service. Our interaction with them was great. There was nothing that we disliked and they were very professional, reasonable in price and very responsive. They give a discount like if I got any service done in the winter; I get a 5% or 10% discount.

We needed to move very pretty fir tree about 6 feet high from backyard to front yard, because we were begining remodelling project, and the tree was on the way. The remodelling guys told me that it would be very expensive to do this, and the tree would not survive anyways, so I should just through the tree away. I was thinking for a while of moving it myself together with my husband, but we don't have any experience in this kind of stuff, and the tree looked pretty big just to be handled by hands. I didn't even considered the idea of getting rid of the tree. So I began calling to different companies, who declared they performed tree services. That was not successful at all in the beginning. One guy told me on the phone, even not seeing it, - the tree was too close to the house, so they can not use their equipment there. Some people were just saying that they don't move trees etc. Finally I called Hoppe Tree services, they came and looked at my tree, and said that they could do it, and the tree had 80% chance to survive. I was happy to hear that, and their price looked pretty reasonable, especially after everybody else didn't want to do it :) They weren't available right away, because it was season for tree services, so they were pretty busy. As I still needed it to be done not later then in a week, they were very nice and helpful to stick me into their schedule, so we could save the tree. I asked them about cutting another tree, which was leaning towards the porch, and also about cleaning the gutters. And that stuff was scheduled about a month later, because - like I said - they were busy. Everything worked out perfect. Two guys came right when they were scheduled, moved the tree without any complicated equipment, just some simple tools and cart. The tree looks gorgeous in our front yard, and hope will grow big and pretty with time! And in a month somebody - we even haven't seen the guy! - came and cut the other tree and cleaned the gutters. I'm really thankful to Hoppe tree service for saving my tree.

My previous snowplowing service didn't show up and didn't respond to e-mail or phone calls. Hoppe responded by e-mail within a few hours and have the job done the next day.

My neighbor has a number of ash trees that need to be removed, and he said he had arranged for Hoppe to come out in February. Then he called and said they would be here January 19th at 9 am. They arrived promptly. I heard truck noises next door and I went to talk to them about my tree. The first crew member to show up didn't have the work order and wasn't sure which tree they were scheduled to cut. I explained and we figured out just how much they'd have to do on my property. It turned out that they had called in the electric company, but once we determined that the tree in question didn't involve any electric wires, the man from the electric company left. They came and looked at my wiring, and we determined that nothing would have to come down except my phone wires, which they did eventually replace without being reminded. They were all polite, and they left the area very neat, even though they had a noisy chipper machine to which they dragged branches. They left a neat pile of firewood by my neighbor's garage. I was in his yard a few days later, and I would not have suspected a tree service crew had even worked there had I not seen them in action. I didn't even see a rough stump of the tree in question. At one point, I saw one crew member examine the fence between the two properties for damage. After they finished, they left a detailed estimate, exactly as I wanted, of the projected costs, both high and low, of trimming my tree.

This was the second time that I used their services. I was very satisfied with them the last time as well as this time. I would certainly call them again if I needed tree service in the future. It was an effortless work with them as they were very easy to get along with. They did exactly what they said that they were going to do.

This is the second time we used these guys. They are very professional and did a great job both times we used them. There's not much to say about cutting down a tree and grinding stumps, except that they did it carefully and safely. They consulted with us about how to trim the large maple tree to let more light through without hurting the tree. They cleaned up everything when they left. Great company to work with.

Once again, Hoppe Tree Service came through for me. They returned my call for an estimate promptly, and came the next day for the estimate. Once contracted, they came to do the work on time on the scheduled day. They had a wonderful crew, who made short order of the work to be done. I watched the entire operation and marveled at the coordinated services and teams. They were marvelous! They had the right machinery to take down a 40 foot tall spruce, dispose of all the branches and trunk, and clean up all the debris. They are amazing. I highly recommend them.

They first came out to do the estimate - they are VERY knowledgable. Each of our questions was answered in a professional and direct way. Theyr eally know what they are doing. we are having them do three phases of work at out home and they have completed two of them. They did some tree trimming for us and removed a dead Elm tree. They also feretilized a tree that sits by our house. the third phase is some remova; and additional trimming that they will complete during the winter months. Hoppe has my complete trust. they are honest, reliable and good at what they do. They are not cheap but I feel I am getting what I paid for. I trust them.

Time will tell since I won't know until spring how the oaks will respond to the fertilizer. I did not get many estimates so left price as not applicable. I feel it was reasonable.

Our back yard is lined on two sides with borders of lilacs. The lilacs were getting overly tall and wide, but , because of privacy issues, we didn't want to cut them all the way down. We called Hoppe Tree Service, and discovered they would trim back our lilacs to a manageable size. They put os on the schedule, showed up when scheduled, and the lilacs are much more manageable. When we arrived home from work, all debris was gone, and the yard was clean.

Contacted vendor thru Angie's list and received a call back within 24hours to schedule an appointment for a free estimate. Met with August at day and time scheduled, estimate took ~10mins and I was very happy with the price estimated. Work that was requested, agreed to, and done included removal of the lower 4'-5' of blue spruce due to space constraints and minor trimming on some of the upper limbs as they were beginning to overgrow a neighbors cable. The work was done on the day/time specified and done correctly. They cleaned up & removed all of the branches and debris from my yard which was mentioned in the estimate. For the price and the service I'd definitely will use them again!

We had lots of storm damage to several trees. Hoppe Tree Service provided such a reasonable estimate that we didn't feel a need to get a 2nd estimate. The crew arrived promptly and were very professional and flexible, when I added additional work. They climbed up to the tops of our very mature trees (over 40' tall) and removed the dead and cracked branches, and removed a large limb on our tree that was growing over the neighbor's garage. The price and quality of work were exceptional and I will definitely call them again for any future tree service needs. I would HIGHLY recommend Hoppe.

I really appreciate how there crews work. They are punctual and professional. The crews are cognizant of clean up as well. I worked with someone other than August this time. Communication with that party was marginal. I also had to call to have my invoice corrected to the agreed upon price. The professionalism score was bolsterd by the actions of the crew. Otherwise that score would have been a solid "C". Thank you August for following up with me.

August Hoppe came for an estimate. He was courteous, prompt and very knowledgeable. We decided to go with this company. They scheduled the appointment a few months later. The crew was respectful of our concerns for our beautiful tree. They did a great job trimming our tree and the clean up was done well.

This was our best experience with a tree sevice to date, and we have hired many jobs done on our mature treed lot over the past 10 years. Care given to neighboring property, many nearby perennials, and beautiful final clean up was phenomenal. Any contact with the company, beginning with the estimate to follow-up phone calls, and on-site crew, was done in a friendly, very prompt, and professional manner. In particular, the stump grinding mulch left behind was very finely ground, and perfect for spreading among plants. I will hire them again and recommend their tree service without hesitation.

Work was done professionally and in a timely manner. We found later that part of the stump remained near the surface of the lawn. One call brought them back right away to take care of the problem at no additional charge.

I refer them to all kinds of people. Their prices are fair and they are very responsive. Anyone that has ever show up at my house has been very knowledgeable. I also like they are family onwed. I have used them for five years now.

Met with Fred Hoppe first who gave me a quote. Very professional. Performed the work within 2 weeks. Cleaned up and removed all the old debris.
