TV Repair
My Mom's TV stopped working. She bought a 60" Plasma TV 2-3 years ago. I checked Angie's List for a TV repair shop. I found one I called but he was swamped. He recommended his son who was in the same business. I called Justin and he said he'd meet me there the next day (07/31/2014) at a specific time. She lives in a nursing home and I told him I'd need to meet him. He was there 5 minutes early. We headed up to my Mom's room. My Mom went to an activity so we laid the TV on the floor and he went to work.
Justin found and showed me the problem fairly quickly. There had been a voltage spike and a component had burned. He showed me the burn mark.
Justin said he didn't have the part in stock. He did a quick on-line search for the part and make a few calls. He was concerned it would need to be custom made by Samsung in Japan. The TV wouldn't be repaired for several weeks. He told me he'd to some more research when he got back to his shop and call me by the end of the day. And he did. And he found the part in the US and he had it shipped.
On 08/06/2014 we met at my Mom's again and he repaired the TV. He even did some resoldering on the new part to make it stronger. The TV is working like a charm and my Mom (and I) are very happy.
Justin is very knowledgable about TV repair and also about home theater installations. He was very professional and personable.
