I liked that they were very honest on what they could and could not do. They did exactly what they said they were going to do.

A-1 was great! Brent came on time to take a look and give us a bid. He called prior to the agreed date to start the project to confirm. The project was started exactly when he said it would be. All posts and the metal fencing was installed in one day. The following day there was terrible weather, so the project skipped a day and was completed on the third day. All in all, two days to get a beautiful fence put in! The guys who built the fence were friendly, timely, and did a beautiful job. The fence looks exactly like we envisioned, and the builders did a fantastic job making the two types of fencing work beautifully to achieve the privacy and natural look that we desired. We couldn't be happier and will definitely call A-1 in the future if we have a need.

They are very professional, courteous, and on time. Their estimate matched what was charged. They were very consistent. Their time table was dead on for when they were going to start and finish the job. I would highly recommend them. They have a fantastic product, the fence has held up very well.

Everything went smoothly. Brent came out and gave me an estimate. I called him with a few questions and he always got right back to me. We decided to go with A-1 after getting another estimate. Brent was nice enough to come out and go over everything again with my husband who had been out of town when he originally came to give me an estimate. The job was started right on time, and both crews were professional, friendly and cleaned everything up. We are very happy with our fence and would recommend A-1 Fence.

Overall very good experience, timely estimate, answered follow-up questions, work performed was what we wanted and expected.

We are moving to a new house and needed a quote or estimate for a fence. Contacted A-1 two times and couldnt' get a reply back. We are going with another company who replied in a timely fashion. Not a good business model.

The entire job went smoothly and we are very pleased with the results.

We were very satisfied with the service. They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves.

We had a very good experience with them all though we did not have them complete the project. They gave us a quote and we decided to put the project off for awhile.

The work they did was very good. We had a bit of a problem, they said something which was not included in the contract then, so we had to pay extra. The person who first wrote the contract interpreted it differently, than what I interpreted, so we ended up paying extra. So I would recommend being cautious and making sure everything is written down on the contract for full understanding. I will use them again in the future.

They did a fantastic job. They were prompt. Even though they had a snag they did very well working around with the precision. They were very friendly, easy to work with and I would recommend them to anybody.

No work was done because they never returned our calls after providing an estimate.

We received the estimate and signed the contract with the sales rep 5/19/2010, and were told installation would be approximately 5 weeks out. Final completion date was 11 weeks from signing. Communication from the company was disappointing to say the least during this wait; while we could understand delays caused by weather and unforeseen circumstances, all communication with A-1 was initiated by us. Posts were put in 7/29/20210. Sales rep assured us that extensive perennials in the area would not be disturbed, that the crew was careful; but in fact, plants and a small hemlock were dug out by the crew and left on the lawn and in the border without notifying me.Other perennials were damaged. I would not have minded moving them in advance, had I been told otherwise. We were informed crew would resume work on the following Monday, and I made myself available at home the entire week, each day anticipating the work. I dug out more perennials and shrubs to protect them from further damage and held them out of the way, thinking they would be out of the ground for a few days, when in fact it ended up being a full week. Fencing was not completed until Friday afternoon. Again, better communication from the company as to when they would complete work would have been extremely helpful. Final product and workmanship are fine, which is what matters most, but the experience was far different from the one we originally had with the company, when I would have easily given them A ratings in all categories.

This Company made it easy from start to finish, getting the job done in less than 2 weeks. We will use them again!

We contacted A-1 to get an estimate for the installation of a fence. The salesperson arrived a couple of hours late to our scheduled appointment. But, once there, he very efficiently measured out lot and provided us with an estimate. He was very good at explaining different fence options that would work with our budget. But, the overall price was a bit higher than another company and they (A-1) were not able to customize some items (gates, etc.) to our specific requirements.

I have been calling A-1 for the last 5 months to find out when they would do the repair. After the last call the company that marks for electrical lines etc....was out and left a marker saying it was safe to dig in that area. I had spoken before to the office manager Brooke and explained that there were a few other problems with the fence that needed addressing. When I saw the flag in our yard I believed that the company had 7 to 10 days to do the work otherwise it would need to be remarked. That was at least a month ago if not more. Today, frustrated, I called them again and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that Brooke is the office manager. I asked for a service manager and she said she could take a message (as she has done in the last 5 months). I asked for a voice mail to leave Dave a message, she said he had no voice mail. I re-explained this situation to her and voiced my disapproval of the way this is being handled. She said she would talk to Dave. When she called back she said that Dave had grouped our job with another one for Muskego because of the price of gas right now. That job fell through and we got pushed aside. I don't think we got pushed aside, I believe we were just forgotten. As I expressed to Brooke this fence cost us $15,000.00 and the $800.00 repair was not a cheap one. I expected more from this company because of it's rating on Angie's List. At the bare minimum I should have been kept updated on the situation with return phone calls. The price of gas excuse is not acceptable to me. I have had other repair people here and have not heard them complain about coming to Muskego. I have now been told that this will be taken care of by the end of next week after I had to re-explain in detail what the repair was and what else was wrong with the fence. All of this I had explained before and if the office secretary looked at the signed contract she would have the details for the original repair estimate. I felt as though they had no clue what I needed fixed. This is a complete lack of professionalism on A-1 Fence's part. As I told Brooke today, had I known that this is the type of service I could expect I would have gone elsewhere for the fence installation.

The salesman was good and I liked his suggestion of replacing the large gate with a smaller gate. He said that he would also replace the rotting posts and renail the entire fence. He said that it would probably be 2-3 weeks until they could get to the job. I signed the contract. On the 4th week, I talked to an office girl as to when they had my job scheduled. She said that she was "only the office girl" and couldn't say when they would come. I asked her to have someone call me that could tell me when they were coming to do the work. No one ever called. By the 8th week, I called and left a message for someone to call me. They left a voice message for me a couple days later saying that they would be there by the end of the following week. By the 12th week, I called again. They said that they would be there that week. On the 13th week, I called again. This time, they finally apologized and promised that they would be there the next week. On the 14th week, they put up the posts on Wednesday and were back on Friday to complete the job.

Excellent from start to finish. Very professional and courteous; work finished ahead of schedule. The fence is beautiful and very solid.

Great--they have different teams who perform different parts of the job--one person does estimate, a week later a post-hole digging/placing team came (working in a terrible downpour), then the fence/carpenters came a few days later and the job was done. They worked super-fast: booked the job and the fence was up the next week.

I called and they came over the very same day to remove the fence section. Things went very well, but since we paid quite a lot for the fence from them in the first place (with the knowledge that down the road, that particular section would need replacing) we thought the price was on the high side for the section replacement. With a little back and forth, we came upon an agreed upon cost. The section was rebuilt and replaced quickly.

Everything was great. Got other estimates which were a little lower but the quality of the material was lower as well. Went with higher quality. Very pleased.

THE SALES PERSON CAME ON TIME, AND DIDN'T GIVE US A FIVE HOUR PITCH. THE WORKERS CAME ON TIME WITH THEIR EQUIPMENT, AND HAD ALL THEIR SUPPLIES. THEY INSTALLED IT THE WAY WE WANTED IT AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES.

The experience was excellent. I took several bids. A-1 was not only the lowest bidder by $100 over a national home improvement chain (and thousands of dollars lower than some landscape contractors), but very helpful in selecting the right type of fence that met my needs and looked attractive. I live in a very urban area; they were considerate of my neighbors and their dogs. The fence took two days to build and install; it was all done on site. Both crews that worked knew exactly what to do; they were timely and polite. Both my neighbors and I were very pleased with the end result.

We were happy with the work although we were disappointed with the turnaround time. We signed the contract and was told the fence would go in, in about two weeks. Then we were told it shipped one day and in reality it didn't ship until a few days later, so we had to wait an extra week to get the fence put in. Other than that, he did a great job.

PERSONABLE. PRICE WAS HIGHER THAN THE PROVIDER SELECTED. TRIED TO SELL HARD WHICH WE DIDN'T APPRECIATE. THEY HAVE SINCE COMPLETED A FENCE FOR A NEIGHBOR THAT LOOKS GREAT.
