About us

WASCO Windows opened in Milwaukee in 1957 as Wisconsin Aluminum Supply Company, and was purchased by Dave Paulus in 1983. At that time, the company manufactured aluminum storm windows, siding and awnings. Under Paulus’ direction WASCO became the first company in this area to manufacture then-new vinyl replacement windows. Since 1983 the Paulus family has transformed WASCO into a company that leads the industry in manufacturing and installing highly energy efficient window products, engineered for Wisconsin’s unique climate.

Annie was awesome! She worked around our crazy work schedules and sat down with us in our home late in the evening to go over all of our options for replacement windows. We never felt pressured into making a decision, and Wasco was the only company that could provide the type of windows that we wanted (inward-opening French casement windows). While we ultimately decided not to replace our original windows (they've just got too much character), we would definitely turn to Wasco if we change our minds in the future.
Response from Wasco Windows
"Thank you for your feedback. It is never a bad decision to keep the original windows in a 1920's house, so long as they are still functional. You can gain significant energy efficiency by purchasing new wooden storms with insulated glass. Acker Millwork makes excellent units. And, please give us call if any of your windows ever get beyond restoration!"

We chose Wasco over other companies because it is a local company, their price was one of the lowest, and they went above and beyond in giving us references. They gave us a whole booklet of letters and gave us three phone numbers of people they had done work for besides, of whom I talked to two. Within the time range they estimated, they called my husband to say our windows were done and that they were coming tomorrow. I thought it was a little interesting that they said they were coming and not asked, but fortunately we were available. The two installers who came in our house were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. The whole process of putting in 7 windows took under 3 hours. Two months later, we are very pleased with the lack of drafts in our bedroom. We would definitely use Wasco again.

They did a good job. The doors were custom sized carriage doors and I wish they would have told us that we have to take the entire panel off. They look beautiful but I wish we would have been told the specifics.

We stopped by to discuss replacing the 45 year old windows in our condo. We talked with Ann Lodwick at the Lincoln Avenue showroom. She was very knowledgeable and their prices were competitive so we invited them out for a measurement. The company was offering free installation on windows at the time, plus 0% financing for 12 months. Wasco custom-builds their windows per order so five weeks later the installer, Ted, came to remove our old, semi-rotted wood windows and put in the new ones. If it wasn't 90 degrees outside he would have been done in one day. As it was, he removed our three double hung and four casement windows and installed the new windows in one day, then returned to complete the exterior trim work the following day. All told it took about eight hours. The new windows are beautiful and the energy efficiency ratings are excellent! If you are unfamiliar with the company, they don't lure you in with budget windows and then try to sell you more expensive versions. They make double pane vinyl windows with low e glass that are filled with Argon gas. Basically the only options are to change the interior aesthetics slightly (include a wood grain, or lattice work) or to go to triple pane glass. We were very comfortable working with the company. They have done a ridiculous amount of work in our complex. There are approximately 86 units and our installer alone had replaced the windows in over 50 of the condos. We also received a discount because we live in this complex. If you're looking for windows, WASCO is a great option. Friendly, competitive, and local!

went very well. tommy was very professional and said they could replace all windows except didn't have a window that would allow a dryer vent. based on this and that glass block windows were less expensive i opted to go with glass block windows. he provided me all the information and references that were all very complimentary that i needed to make a decision.

The work was great. It was outstanding that they found a vinyl to match the wood siding; this is not easy to do.

I liked their product, and if I was willing to spend a little more for a better quality window for our house we weren't going to be living in for many more years, I may have gone with them. Also, their usual method for replacement was removing the inside trim to replace the windows and replacing the trim rather than redoing the outside aluminum trim. I preferred not disturbing inside old lead paint.

We met with our salesman, John, in the fall to figure out what we wanted done. John was very pleasant to work with. Always friendly and very helpful. He even invited us the following day to visit the factory so he could give us a tour. It took a good three months or so after signing the contract for the installation to take place, apparently because they are very busy. The installation went very well. The installers were friendly and did an excellent job. We paid extra for trim to be added around the exterior of the windows, and it was well worth it. The installers caulked every gap around the trim, giving a nice finished look. They also added some wood molding on the top side of the interior of the windows since we did not have stops at the top of the windows, giving the windows a nice finished look. One problem occurred: the grids in the front casement windows were not what we ordered! The contract and work orders were correct, but somehow the wrong grids ended up in the glass. WASCO was very apologetic and resolved this for us without any hassle. The truth is we actually liked the look of the grids they gave us, except for one detail, so they replaced the glass about a month later with a corrected version at no extra charge. They also had no problem with us witholding payment until the glass was replaced to our satisfaction. In all, a great experience. I highly recommend them.

They had to reschedule the date selected for the install due to stormy weather. Due to my schedule, they came a week later and everything went very well. They removed old windows and patio door, install new units, trimmed everthing out, and left the area cleaner than it was before they started. They handled the building permit and followed the new Wisconsin lead abatement procedures in sealing the area in plastic before the work was performed.

The install process was no problem, but since the install is done from the inside, there is minor trim touch-up that needs to happen. I installed 1/2 the windows at a time and had 2 different salespeople and 2 different installers. Both installers did a great job and worked very quickly and neatly. My only complaint is that they didn't give me much lead tim in either case to coordinate the install. Both times they called the day before they wanted to come and install, but this was only a minor inconvenience. On the 2nd install, it was found that one of the windows was the wrong size. They were able to get the right size called in right away in the morning, and the window was installed the next day. I was very happy working with this local company.
Response from Wasco Windows
"Thank you for your business and your nice review. Unfortunately, mis-measured windows can occur through human error, or simply through things that couldn't be seen before taking the old windows out. One advantage of WASCO is that with our own local factory, we simply produce the new window right away on an emergency basis."

Great...met with Tommy for windows. As was just before NARI show went there to see the tilt and turn window before signing the contract. Tommy came the following day after I contacted him, made a change to the grid on the tilt/turn windown and provided a down payment. Came out about 2 weeks later for final measurements. Contacted me when the windows were ready and scheduled install the following week based on my scheduled. The installers were great...took down the pleated shades and curtain panels for me; found fun stuff in the windows casing from when the house was built in 1928; completed the installation, replaced blinds and curtains for me. Cleaned up great. And as the shutters had to come down for installing the windows due to the way the previous owners had installed, I had bought new shutters and they even put them on the house for me. The installers were pleasant, great chatters, and seemed to have fun doing their job. All my windows are now replaced, but would not hesitate to contact Wasco if needed windows for any reason again. Previous windows were replaced by a different Company, but the Wasco experience far surpassed my previous experience in efficiency and professionalism.

They came when they said they would and did a good job cleaning up. They did everything from the outside of the house, so it made a minimum mess and disruption on the inside of the house.

They did the work in 1 day, they were prompt. When they installed the windows, they put 4 windows in the bow and 1 stationary window on each side. He said it was the newer way of doing the windows instead of putting a 6 window curve bow. It looks nice but I didn't anticipate that design. I may not have made it clear enough when we initially discussed the job. I didn't have any problem with the quality of workmanship. They did a nice job of installing the windows and doors.
