"I am truly sorry for the non response. I have called Angie'[Member Information Removed] List recently to find out why I haven't received any leads (for estimate requests) recently. From 4/16/2020 till 7/8/2020 there were 360 requests in Angie'[Member Information Removed] list and none were forwarded to me. Unfortunately, yours was included it those. I'm sure you have contracted someone for your project by now but I just wanted to clear the air on this matter. Thanks for the original inquiry. Del.....Woodrite Carpentry"

"It's always disappointing for some folks will give a contractor a bad review for not getting in touch with them when an estimate is requested. I always try to get in touch by phone or email (if provided) but I can't control whether a customer is or isn't available to take the call at the moment."
"I don't know what happened to this one. I do think a "F" review is pretty harsh for someone to give to a contractor when they weren't home to take the calls."
"It is refreshing to hear from folks that really appreciate quality work."
"This was a bad mistake on my part. I don't specifically remember that issue but it apparently happened. There is absolutely no excuse to miss an appointment. Somehow it got mixed up or misplaced with other appointments and it was overlooked. I spend a great deal of time (and money) trying to get work for my business and I wouldn't miss an appointment deliberately. I will continue to pursue further projects and hope this problem wont happen again. We have a "A" rating with Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau and I do everything I can not to jeopardize that rating including missing an appointment."
"I don't recall the mix up and maybe there was some miscommunication on this issue. I don't attempt to pursue additional projects and then deliberately miss the appointment. If this is what happened, I don't have an excuse, however, accidents do happen."
"I don't remember this issue and the best I can do is apologize. We get several job estimate requests and sometimes one might fall between the cracks."
Started the job on date, and completed the job on time.
"This person called me about this project. I indicated from the beginning that was really booked up and also short handed. She called again and really wanted me to look at this project. I went to her home to look at the project. She wasn't at home. (she told me in advance that it is OK to look even though she wouldn't be there). I took pictures and left my company brochure in the front screen door and left. (I assumed that the brochure would serve as a signal to her that I was there and she would therefore call me when she returned home. I didn't see any calls from her although maybe I missed it somehow. If so, it wouldn't be the first missed call that I have ever experienced. (mistakes happen) That being said, I would have never thought that a missed call (or whatever happened) would generate a terrible review on Angie's List. I value my good reputation very much and do whatever I can to maintain it. Of my 20 to 30 reviews on Angie's List, I had 3 negative reviews and the remainder were mostly A's. The negative reviews were for projects that I never performed or even contracted. I have no further comment of this matter."
"I always try to contact every member that is looking for an estimate for a project at their home or business. Mistakes can be made and it is always possible to miss a request. In this case, I don't recall a request from this person, nor do I recognize the person's name. I also checked the job requests on Angie's List and my business email and this persons name is not included There is obviously a mistake."
There were several delays. Original completion was to be in late September or October. I did say there was no rush. This was not completed to my satisfaction until this week but it is done and done well. It just took a very long time to get to this point. Del was always responsive with my emails but there was a period when I was unsure if it was going to be done but no money had been exchanged so nothing had been lost at that point. Again, it is done and to my satisfaction.
With the work now completed I and happy to say everything was done as promised with excellent workmanship. Del checked in with me regularly during the project to make sure we were happy and Jerry, his carpenter was great to work with as well. There are bigger firms out there that I am sure do good work, but I am glad to say we choose Woodrite and would recommend them.
"Even though there was an attempt to get a contract to this homeowner, and have it signed and returned, there was not a signed contract in place for this project, therefore, there was not a start date or completion date established. We do not work without contracts signed by both parties. With that, I have no further comment."
"While I appreciate all of the reviews I get for my company, sometimes there may be a little confusion as to the size, configuration, materials, etc. of a given project, which can lead to a poor review. It could also very well be that I, as the estimator, was somewhat unsure or confused as to the specifics of this project. Sometimes it is also possible that the customer does not convey all information specific to the project to the person doing the estimating. The project in question here was to be a large Cedar Deck. If my memory serves me correctly, it was to be approximately 500 square feet in size plus some steps and railings. I indicated that without doing any exact calculations, that the cost using todays prices for a project of this size and orientation, using Cedar, and also using a reputable and licensed (State of Wisconsin) contractor the cost could easily be over $10,000.00. I was then informed that a competitive bid had been received for $4,000.00 for the same project. I didn't pursue this project any further knowing that the incredible difference in the price was so high that there was not much of a chance for me to contract this project. My company is known for very high quality craftsmanship. On this particular review, I received a grade of "B" for craftsmanship. It was quite confusing to me as there was not any samples of my work to be demonstrated at this time. Finally, I am by no means attempting to pass any direct blame to the potential customer in this case as it could simply be some lack of communication on both parties."
