Wisconsin Firewood & Melvin Mulch LLC

I ordered a half cord consisting of half hickory and half mixed firewood. After stacking it I seriously doubt it had even 1/4 hickory. The load was definitely short. My woodbox was built to hold exactly a face cord and their load came up probably 100 pieces short. Close to half of the wood is moldy and rotten, so much so that some of it is not useable and I definitely can not store it in the house because of the smell. It was also very wet. I was not told in advance that it would be wet but they slip you a note after delivery that you need to bring it inside to dry. Really??? How can I bring it inside when it smells so bad????

Please, I know firewood is in short supply this year but please pass this company by.

Outstanding responsiveness!  I made request on a Friday morning after e-mailing with a rep. there and after looking at the range of their mulches on their website.  The website is well designed, both for their mulches and for gravel/stone.  You can see many examples clearly and check out their prices on the same page.  This is useful because there are so many mulch types out there.  I know a little about mulches and appreciated the details on their site.  It made making a choice very easy.
Also part of the outstanding experience was the fact that they responded and delivered the mulch the day I requested it!   Convenient because now, whether I like it or not, the weekend can be spent spreading mulch throughout our large yard.  
I'd easily recommend them for their mulch in bulk and may take advantage of their landscaping stone next season.

I called to inquire about having mulch delivered at 12:30 in the afternoon.  The person answering the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful.  I placed the order at that time for 3 yards of hemlock mulch to be delivered.  They were able to deliver it that day, and by 2:15 it was in my driveway, exactly where I asked it to be left.  Excellent quality mulch, great professional driver, and overall I couldn't ask for a better experience. I will definitely use them again.

It was free shipping after ordering 3 yards for the Milwaukee area in a certain radius. They were very competitive on price. Around the holidays they get backed up and don't always return calls. They didn't respond to calls initially.

It was delivered on the day arranged in the exact spot that I wanted it.

Ordered online on Thursday night, confirmed on Friday and delivered Saturday morning. The delivery guy was early, took about an hour for him to stack the wood and he cleaned up the mess in the driveway. I would use them again but we bought on face cord oak and one mixed of maple & cherry. The wood is split into smaller sizes and burns relatively fast, so we are using it rather quickly. No small logs, all split wood.

When they dumped the wood in my driveway, it was obvious that a front-end loader or Bobcat was used because after I finished stacking t here was a HUGE pile of dirt, gravel, woodchips and garbage left behind that they scooped up with the wood when they loaded their truck. Where I live, there is no option for a pickup of such debris. I did not want to mix it with the soil in my flower or vegetable beds because of the extremely poor quality. My call to complain was met with the reply ,"That is the way we do business" by the receptionist. I had to make several trips to haul it all away to a landfill.
I now buy my firewood from a comparably priced firm that hand picks the wood and loads it by conveyor. I now end up with a tiny pile of debris that I sweep up and easily dispose of .

I liked what Wisconsin Firewood & Melvin Mulch did and I was happy. The price was competitive and they were quick on the delivery.

I placed the call and ordered the mulch and asked for delivery on Monday, May 14th. The truck arrived 10 minutes early. Dumped on our driveway as requested.

It was a good and timely delivery.  The wood is good and nicely cut up.  It was dry and ready to be used.  We did pay a little more for them than a different local guy, but the wood was better and nicely cut up in comparison.  Considering the cost we may not use them again.  They did give us a good delivery service and good wood.

Due to the high  ratings this company had on Angie's List, we decided to give them a try, especially since we were looking for high quality wood to supplement our home heating. They are a third more expensive than other companies we have used in the past.  
The first phone message I left was never returned, but I tried a week later and got the receptionist,who was helpful and the wood was delivered on the chosen day. When I got home from work, I went out to pile the wood. It was filthy. Full of sand, mud, rocks, wrappers from chips. I got out my garden hose to try and get some of the dirt off before stacking (this is December, mind you). The wood was that dirty. I gave up getting each piece somewhat cleared  of the mud and sand and piled it as it was.  Afterwards, I swept up from the driveway one 32 gallon trash can, one 32 gallon trash bag, and one 15 gallon container of sand, mud, bark, rocks and trash off my drive.  The next day I called and talked with the receptionist and explained that we were extremely displeased with the condition of the wood and the mess it arrived in.  She apologized and said she would let the owner know of our complaint and also speak with the driver.  We will not use or recommend this company to anyone.  It was a disappointment after having high hopes from Angie's reviews.

Beautiful job of stacking the firewood.  Got a face cord combination of oak and cherry, plus some kindling wood.  Really good quality, seasoned wood.  Has burned beautifully in fireplace over the Thanksgiving holiday.  Was able to order in advance and pick the day for them to deliver.  Did not have to wait for them at home to supervise, and they did a wonderful job of stacking, which was worth the extra $30 in cost.  Would definitely use again next season.

We were able to handle everything online and a person called the next day to confirm all the particulars. They delivered exactly when we agreed they would, and there were no hidden charges in the billing. We will probably order another 10 yards of mulch from them next month.

I received a discounted price per the online coupon. The firewood was neatly stacked in the area I asked them to place it. (I wasn't home at the time of the delivery.) The online ordering was easy. They called me to confirm a date and kept trying until we could actually speak. I am very pleased. (The Angie's list pricing for stacking is not the same as the price I was charged. The page might need to be updated.)

I called on a Wednesday and they fit me in really quickly. They delivered it and stacked it and did a great job. The price was in line with what we've paid for the last couple of years but I didn't take the time to really price it out.

I found their website very helpful & over the phone they were very friendly. I set up a time for the delivery which worked out well. They delivered the wood & dropped it on our driveway & I had to stack it myself which they had told me on the phone. I thought that the wood was not as good as it should have been. It wasn't as dry as I thought it was going to be & was really dirty. When I brought it into my house it got dirt everywhere. The customer service was great but I do not think I will use them again in the future.
