It went terrific. We called on a Sunday night and they were able to come out first thing Monday morning because they'd had a cancelation. The workman was prompt, clean, and professional. We asked some questions while he was working, and I mentioned that we had read on Angie's list how the Taagan workmen were willing to tell you everything they were doing and explain the whole process as they worked. He laughed and said that explained a lot. Turns out they are willing to answer any/all questions, but the work will go a LOT faster if you ask your questions before or after, but let them actually concentrate on the work at hand, while they are working. One of the things that was very important to me was that had an auger large enough to clean out our 4" drain, all the way to the walls. Most places only have a 1.25" bits. Normally, we have to have our drain augured once a year in Sept. We have 2 mature trees growing over our sewer pipes, and the roots are invasive. We had to find a new plumber last year. The new guy was inexpensive, but with his 1.25" bit he was only able to drill a hole through the middle of the roots. Our drain was clogged again within 4 months (over the winter!) So I was thrilled to find out that Taagan could auger up to an 8" pipe. They are our go-to plumber now!

As stated above, the provider was contacted for an estimate on a bathroom remodel job. The plumber came to assess the work to be done, but without informing/obtaining approval from the owner, initiated pluming work on the bathroom and charged for the work. I was shocked to find out that work had begun and I was charged when I had not given approval for the work. After the "estimate" was provided, I called to discuss the terms but Taagen Plumbing said they would no longer service my address given that I rejected their earlier work. When I tried to explain that I had scheduled only an estimate and this was the reason I was disgruntled about the service, they continued to say they would no longer service my address and neglected to return my calls. I instead used Vince Ingrili & Sons Plumbing for the job and they were fantastic!!

The project went very well, when I called both to inquire about the work and schedule it I spoke with a person and not an answering machine or voice mail. Their service representative showed up on time (+/- 10 minutes) and was done in a matter of an hour or two.
The sink was removed from the wall, the drain for the toilet was capped with concrete and the supply lines were taken back to the closest junction.
He even took the time to sweep and vacuum up any mess then hauled away the debris. The laundry room was probably cleaner than he found it.

Taagen had installed a shower last winter, but we weren't really using it much until this year. I noticed that the water didn't seem to be getting truly hot. I was afraid that this might be one of the regrettable consequences of some historic "handyman" plumbing in my house and might not be easily fixable, but since I've had great experiences with Taagen in the past, I decided to give them a call.
As it turned out, it was merely a question of adjusting a setting in the faucet, but while that sounds simple, it still took a little while to investigate and fix. I was just happy that this was fixable, so I was happy to pay whatever it was going to add up to, but it seems that they felt somehow responsible, so they ate the cost!
Their rates are generally a little higher on an hourly basis, but every experience I've had with Taagen has been excellent. They are always prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. It's very nice to work with people who you feel you can rely on.

We completely gutted a kitchen, added a 2nd floor laundry room and reworked three bathrooms.  I had quotes from a general contractor and one of those retail kitchen places to do all the work.  Wow, were those bids expensive!  We decided to self-manage the project and hire out most of our own subcontractors.
I had worked with Taagen in the past on smaller projects and they were always prompt and did great work.  They were my first call when I needed a quote on this major remodel.
They knew the questions to ask, helped me understand what was involved and then provided a very comprehensive fixed-bid quote. This turned out to be cost comparative to an hourly bid from another plumber--but without the worry of overtime or unforeseen hourly/billable problems.  Our list of plumbing needs was very long (see below).  But, Taagen delivered with amazing efficiency and wonderful results.  They were flexible to work around other contractors and didn't get frustrated with some delays in fixtures not arriving as scheduled to the job site.
I had a wonderful experience and would recommend them to anyone looking to avoid the contractor mark-ups and do remodels on your own with qualified contractors that won't take advantage of you.  The Taagen's run a family business and they are efficient, resourceful, friendly, respectful and do very clean work.  You won't be disappointed--if you have a problem, let them know and they will make it right!

I was very pleased by Taagen Plumbing's quality of work and professionalism.  They arrived on time, and quickly took care of the work.  The worker removed all debris and cleaned up afterwards.  He installed quality parts, and even replaced a water line that, while ok, could have leaked in the future.  I highly recommend this company and actually already hired them to take care of another problem we've had (a slow tub drain.)

My experience with Taagen was not great and I will probably look for someone else next time I have a plumbing issue. Scheduling an appointment was fine, though they had no availability until the following week. I was asked if I would like a call when the plumber was on the way, and I said I would. The appointment was made for an 11am-1pm window. On the day of the appointment I made sure to be home before 11 and got no call before the plumber showed up, at 12:50pm. I had three leaky faucets, which I indicated when making the appointment: one on the toilet, one in the bathtub, and one outside the house. I indicated to the plumber that the outside faucet was my primary concern as the leak was worst there. He got to work in the bathroom right away and I kept out of his way. He did stop for a phone call or two (relatively short and seemingly work related, but I don't think that time was deducted from my bill). About 2 hours later, while fixing one of the toilets, he said that the toilet in the other bathroom started running as well and asked if I wanted it fixed. I told him to go ahead, but that I was getting concerned about the amount of time the job was taking, especially since he has not yet started on the outside faucet. So he called in another plumber, who came to work on the outside faucet, and it turned out to be a relatively easy fix. The plumber was done at about 3:20pm, so with parts (and even after the Angie's List discount) my bill was much higher than I had anticipated. I should also note that the bill was sent to me later; when the plumber left all I got was a business card and I was not asked to sign anything, which I found a bit odd. The plumber indicated that the faucet in the tub was difficult to fix because it's old, and I don't know if it would have taken another plumber just as long, but I definitely did not anticipate the amount of time the job would take (in all I had to be home from 11-4, so most of the day).
The worst part, however, is that the tub faucet was not fixed. It started leaking again shortly after I took my next shower, and I waited a few days to see if the leak would improve but it got worse. So I called Taagen and they were willing to come fix it without a further charge but said that they'd have to call me back to make the appointment. When I did not hear back for a day or two, I called again, and then got an appointment for a few days later. The same plumber showed up and spent some time (probably about an hour) on it. When he was done the faucet seemed to still be leaking, and when I asked him about it he said that's the best he can do with an old faucet like that, which I did not find very satisfactory. He then said that maybe they can call the original manufacturer for parts, so I asked that they do that and get back to me. I never heard back from Taagen, but thankfully the leak did stop eventually so I paid my bill. Perhaps it was my fault for not getting an estimate up front (not that I was offered one), and the leaks were eventually fixed, but given the rates they charge and the experience I had, I will likely look elsewhere next time.

I had water leaking from a door frame & ceiling over the weekend. I called Taagen, who has a weekend answering service & they had someone call me back within minutes. This alone was a big deal as I called a number of plumbers, most of which still haven't called me back. The on call plumber told me the weekend rate, which was high & I'm sure is normal, so he said before he came over & had to charge me, he would help me trouble shoot. He told me a number of things to check out & then called me back a couple hours later to check in. It turns out that it wasn't a plumbing issue, but an A/C issue. I was so thankful that he had me check first, otherwise I would have been charged $195 just to be told I needed to call an A/C repair company. The plumber was so helpful & really cared about not charging me unless he really had to. I appreciate that kind of concern & will definitely call Taagen when I do need a plumber.

Called on Friday for a non-emergency clean-out of my main sewer line. they arrived on Monday morning, right on time.
Two brothers, so they could carry the snake equipment downstairs together.  They both stayed about 90 minutes.  They flushed out the floor drain and really did a thorough job of snaking the main line. They had to use an extension, since the run was nearly 100 feet long. They used several heads to cut roots, etc.  They cleaned up well after themselves.  It was a fixed fee, regardless of time, which was a bit more expensive than some, but they did not rush, and did an excellent job.  I have used them before to install a new water heater, and a few other jobs, and will continue to use them again in the future.
