Description of Work: For season after season, Record Head Corporation hired Nimmer Heating for the maintenance and repair of our commercial heating and cooling systems. Season after season, we would start up the heat or air for the first time, and the fuse would always go out. This is what we were billed for time after time. After many seasons (years), I decided to ask someone else to look at the system before we turned it on at the change of the season. I went along with this technician. We opened up the panel and found one fuse missing. Nimmer Heating was exchanging one fuse for the other season after season. After further inspection, we discovered the maintenance which I asked them to check was not being addressed. The belt was deteriorated, and the filters were either missing or plugged with soot, which caused hundreds of dollars of damage to the systems. I trusted them for the maintenance for years. The Nimmer Company lied and cheated Record Head Corporation out of hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. On top of this, while the Nimmer Company was maintaining service on my air and furnace units, they also installed a new unit in 2007, which has a 10-year warranty from the manufacturer. The unit that they put in was not installed 100% correctly, and we have been plagued with problems which have not been addressed by them. I had to hire a different Bryant dealer to follow up and repair the incorrect installation of this new unit, which is still under warranty and cost well over $10,000.00.

Response from Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning
There are a lot of factual discrepancies and false accusations in this report, which need to be addressed and cleared up by Nimmer Heating and Record Head. Record Head has three HVAC systems at the address in question. We have serviced the member’s other systems at two other addresses as well. The member’s first assertion that we were hired by Record Head for the maintenance and repair of his systems is wrong. In five years of servicing his equipment we were only hired for one maintenance call, and that was on 11-19-03, to tune-up three roof top units . All other calls were for “no heat” and “no cooling” situations. The member’s second assertion that we had to come out year after year at the beginning of the season to replace fuses is false. I have enclosed the only two invoices I have where we charged anything for replacing fuses, 7-12-06 (not typically the start of the “cooling” season), and 10-30-07. The member’s assertion is that we billed him “for this time after time” is false. We billed him twice for fuses over a 16-month period. Next the member asserts that he went with a technician from another company up on the roof and “discovered the maintenance which I asked them to check was not being addressed…(found) deteriorated belts, plugged and missing filters.” I have no doubt he found his equipment in disrepair. We found it that way, too. We have noted plugged and missing filters and other issues that the member never asked us to do anything about. He “trusted them (us) for the maintenance for years?” and we “lied and cheated about it”? We do not check and or replace filters for free, or without the customer’s request. If we had some sort of “maintenance agreement” with him that he PAID for, then we would have been checking and replacing filters on a regular basis. We had no maintenance agreement (scheduled or unscheduled) with the member. We noted plugged and missing filters to the member on our invoices. He never asked us to replace filters even after noting they were missing or plugged. He never purchased any filters from us either. It is very slanderous of the member to accuse us of cheating and lying about “maintaining his equipment”, when we were never hired for that, nor was he ever charged for that. The member also asserted that he has a new unit installed by us, which “has been plagued with problems which have not been addressed by them (us).” This is also false. We did install a new unit that the member or a Record Head employee ran into twice with a cart, causing problems with the condensate pump, which we replaced at no charge to the member. We also moved the unit at no cost to the member. We still had issues with the hose kinking, which may have come from having to move the unit to avoid the cart. We also unkinked the hose several times and charged the member one of the times. The last call we did for the member was to unkink the hose in August of 2008. I spoke with the Bryant Dealer today that the member called for what turned out to be a pinched low voltage going out to the condenser. I have to assume this was sometime between our last call there in August of 2008 and when the member filed his report. This “pinched low voltage” issue was not something the member ever called us out for, and if he had, and if it was in some way due to our installation, we would not have charged him for the repairs. The member’s last assertion that we ignored his complaint to the BBB is entirely false as well. I responded on July 2nd, 2009. A representative at the BBB can attest to this. I talked to her today, and she said she re-sent my response to the member’s complaint. She told me when she talked to the member about it yesterday, he said he had not received it. That is possible, except that yesterday was the first time the representative was aware that he was saying he had not received it and the very last words of his Angie’s List report are “we are continuing to follow up with the BBB”, which indicates that he has been in contact with the BBB regarding my “non-response” which is not consistent with the representative’s information to me. I request that all the factual errors and false accusations be removed from the report. Our invoices with this company are an open record to Angie’s list and the BBB. Thank you. Description of Work: We came home from a 10 day vacation to no heat and 30 degree temperatures. I found Nimmer on Angie's List and called at 9:30 p.m. on a Sunday night to leave a message for the next morning. They returned my call at 7:15 a.m. and were at our house by 8:30 as promised. The problem was fixed (thermal coupling replacement) by 9:00 a.m. Nimmer was great and we had a cozy night bonding as a family w/ the heated blanket to boot!

Description of Work: When my 20 year old furnace ceased to work, I called Nimmer, and they sent Kevin to my home in less than 2 hours to repair same. I have used Nimmer Co. once before and was very pleased with their work. Kevin is a terrific service man. Very friendly, informative, and great at assessing the problem. The blower motor needed oiling, but he also checked the exhaust motor filter and replaced the $6 part. He completed his work in less than a half hour and cheerfully gave me the Angie's list discount. I will definitely be using Nimmer when I need to replace my furnace and add an air conditioner. I felt Kevin is very honest and trustworthy at his job. I will ask for him specifically when I call again. Kudos to an efficient and reliable company!
