The tech came out to the car. She was pleasant and handled my 1 year old Lab like a pro. Very pleased.

Heidi has been very lethargic and not jumping up or eating. She had already been to the regular vet - whose prices are beyond wonderful but is not conveniently located to me any longer, nor are her hours easy to work with. Crawford  Animal hospital is very, very responsive to quick appointments. I just found that out again today when I realized that once again I've neglected the dogs rabies appointments. I need them done in a day before I go on a travel trip with them. They were able to get me right in. Unlike my old vet. This was the case the first time I used Crawford. She was very thorough and made me feel like she was really paying attention to Heidi's symptoms. That was the one thing I felt my former vet had not been doing well. She, I think, thought Heidi is quite old and was just showing her age. I wanted to be sure. As it turns out, I'll admit when I'm wrong - my old vet was right - Heidi is just getting old - and probably was just feeling some arthritic pain. But I felt more assured that is all it was. They also took care of a bordetella vaccine and nail clipping for Heidi - which is always a pain - because her toenails - grow like weeds and she hates for us to touch them. They suggested dropping by "anytime" every 3 weeks to get them back under control. I thought this was a wonderful idea and very kind of them to work with us on the nails. Unfortunately, I travel so much, I haven't been able to take them up on their offer. But that just shows you how easy access they are.
My only complaint is that like all veterinarians, I feel they charge entirely too much - my old vet was extremely reasonable - but then again she did not spend a lot of money making her clinic look new and up-to-date. She did not suggest unneeded therapies and medications. That's OK with me. I don't need fancy and new for my dogs - they are, after all, dogs. There was a time when people didn't believe in taking dogs to vets and they did just fine. I think sometimes we over pamper and over worry about our dogs. And we allow the vets to over examine, over medicate, over extend their lives when they are not intended to live this kind of life. Don't get me wrong. I love my dogs. They are my sun, moon and stars. I would do anything to see them not hurt and not in pain. But I would also not pay 10,000 to put them in chemotherapy to extend a cancerous death by a year. The pain alone that would put them in is a horrible thought - not to mention the money. But as a society we have all given into this kind of thinking and now we believe we MUST do this. Not true. Nothing is wrong with giving your wonderful companion and best friend the best quality of life - but chemotherapy, surgeries and little wheels so they can continue to mobilize are not always the right answer and certainly not quality. So with that philosophy - I judge most vet's as charging too much - Crawford Animal Hospital is not as bad as most, however.

They are extremely responsive. I can get an appointment the same day and they are very caring. They are excellent. They are a little bit farther than where I am currently living but it's well worth going the extra 5 or 10 minutes to get there. Their euthanasia service was $91 or $95.

I called Crawford Animal Hospital on the recommendation of my previous vet's office since they were booked and could not see my cat.  The receptionist was very patient and kind.  The Dr and Andy, the vet tech, were so compassionate and gentle with my cat.  And with me!  I can not say enough good about the whole experience.  It was a very sad occasion but the staff was just tremendous and caring.  Many thanks to Andy for his patience, kindness, and compassion.

I have been going here since 1999 for all my pets. I always expect my bill to be more than it is; which is always a nice surprise. I have 3 cats currently. One of my cats broke it's wrist. He kept getting his cast off. I called in the morning and they had me drop him off on my way to work and then I picked him up later. They took an xray to see if it had healed enough to not put on another cast as my cat kept getting it off. The previous week the same thing happened. I brought him in-they put a new cast on him and I picked him up after work All at no charge. I had to pay for the xray this time but worth it to know I wasn't going to have to get another cast on him. They are very compassionate and honest. When I have had to put another cat down in the past because of illness; they gave me the option to keep her ashes and they made a little round impression with her paw prints on the front and her name and date of birth and date of passing on the back and a little bow on top. It means the world to me to have that keepsake. The location is not close to where I live, but the care and professionalism is worth the drive to the other side of town.

I am conflicted. They had great service and were very kind with my dog, but their prices were very high. I was later told by the rescue facility, that we had been "sold" a lot of vaccinations and testing that did not need to be done. For instance 3 separate stool sample testing and separate treatments for each worm infestation found, when there are apparently combo treatments that would have reduced our cost and total number of visits.

Dr. Hoyer was wonderful! She spent about 15 minutes on a one on one consultation. Dr. Hoyer is very attentive, thoughtful and really cares about my dog. She did not charge us for a consultation fee. She only charged us for the anti-inflammatory that she prescribed. Dr. Hoyer has been our vet for about 8 years. Her appointments are always on time, she takes her time and is very thorough. She saved my dog's life, several years ago, when she had a bacterial infection. I really like their level of service, especially the overnight nurse option, if your animal is really sick.

I moved here from out of state and chose Crawford Animal Hospital because of good reviews and convenient location. After calling and talking with the receptionist, I had my pets' records set to their office, but we did not need immediate care because we took care of annual shots, etc. before we moved. Upon needing vet care, I called to make an appointment and was told that I could not make an appointment because they didn't have any records. When I explained that I already sent them, they replied (not very nicely) that they had thrown them out because we had not made an appointment. Although I was extremely disappointed, I may have recovered and had the files resent, but the receptionist was very accusing, like this was my fault. Instead of apologizing for an error that could very well have been an innocent mistake, she insisted that this was their normal operating procedure. I didn't realize that I had to make an appointment within 30 days of them receiving the records. This was not told to me in the initial conversation, or I probably would have come in to meet the vet at the cost of an office visit not needed. I wish they had called me before they threw away my pets records and explained their procedure because this whole situation could have been avoided. In any case, this left a very bad feeling in my heart, so I will not be returning, and I will take my business elsewhere.

This was my first visit to Crawford Animal Hospital with my 15 year old cat. I had previously taken her to another clinic,
but the veternarian there retired and did not have partner. The clinic was bought by another existing practice.
I decided a clinic closer to my home would be a smart move as my cat is quite vocal in the car.
I personally checked out two other facilities prior to selecting Crawford. I defintely wanted a practice this time with at least
two veternarians. I read the biographies of both Dr. Hoyer and Dr. Baker and liked the fact that, in addition to having a dog,
each had two cats.
The scheduling and appointment went extremely well. Fortunately my cat is in good health so making the transition to a
new practice was not stressful. I felt the time spent with Jessica, the vet assistant, and Dr. Hoyer was very generous and
the physical examination of my cat, by Dr. Hoyer, most thorough. I had concerns about vaccinations which Dr. Hoyer took
time and example to explain so I could make an informed decision.
I look forward and feel most comfortable working with Crawford Animal Hospital for future appointments.

From the time of making our appointment until we checked out, the service was first class. We have been to a couple of vets with our three year old Wired Hair Fox Terrier and came away unimpressed with every one of them, that is until now. The care we received from Dr. Hoyer and Katelyn was excellent. Not only did they do the standard check, they took the time to cleary explain every detail of what the issues were with our dog. They even educated us on what we needed to do differently with our pet and did it in a very caring way. When it came time for our medication and billing for their services, they explained every thing to us clearly and we even had the option of declining certain services prior to treatment. What was going to be a very expensive $300 bill, turned out to be less that half of that (with coupon) at the final check out. They were very understanding when we declined to have the blood test done for our dog. Most vets would have made you feeling guilty for declining certain services. Most of all, OUTSTANDING CARE!

Our elderly dog was not herself so we took her to Crawford. She was seen by Dr. Hoyer who examined her and drew blood for testing. This is the first vet's office we had been to where our dog didn't shiver and shake. The staff was extremely caring, helpful, and informative. Although the test results were not encouraging, we are completely satisfied with the service and totally agree that their slogan is practice not just words on a board.

They're awesome. I live about 30 miles from them and there are a lot of vets closer, but I wouldn't trust my animals to anyone else. We moved way far away but we still go there.

My husband and I have been taking our pets to Crawford Animal Hospital for 10 years when we first moved to Wauwatosa from California. Even though we've been living in West Bend for the past 7 years, we continue to make the drive to take our animals to Crawford because as their motto says, "Unconditional Love Deserves Uncompromising Care." The vets and staff at Crawford have provided love and outstanding medical care to all our animals. I highly recommend Crawford and wouldn't take my animals anywhere else.
