The tape and mudding went well, longer than discussed and a few days no one showed up, but the job was somewhat acceptable. They did not cleanup after themselves and there was mud all over the place, in non construction areas. Even the tomatoes on the outside patio had mud on them!!! The problem came with the texturing. It was not the texture agreed upon. Jeff argued with my husband for a night about it being correct and we were just not familiar with the product. After some discussion, it was admitted it was far to rough for what we had wanted. He had his "guys" sand it off....no draping of door ways, vents....nothing. Drywall plaster everyday...all over the furniture, floors, food, the DOG! Terrible. We then informed them they were not to finish and to come and get their things. Then the stories started....I was in the hospital, my license plates were expired, I needed to leave to find a vacuum....and on and on. Then the threats of lien waivers in exchange for $1000 started. What a nightmare. The replacement guys were in and out in under 1.5 hours and everything was clean professional. We currently are in communication with the provider to try to settle the dispute and charges. We have no intentions of getting something for nothing. We will pay for the tape and mud work that was done, but not for the wrong texture and then the mess that ensued as a result of them given a chance to remedy the problem.
Description of Work: He was suppose to tape and mud newly drywalled bedrooms and a hallway and then texture and prime.

Response from Accurate
agreed to tape and mud 2 bedrooms for 900. owner called and said he had a quote for 1200 to tape, mud, texture and prime. we agreed to that price. he than added 4 closets and hallway for same price? we taped and mudded and that was fine. windows were covered with wood by owner because his new windows weren't in yet. we covered floor with resin paper, plastic off door ways, sanded mud and cleaned up. if we hadn't cleaned up they wont allowed us to texture? made 4 samples of texture for approval. they picked 1 we sprayed that sample and it matched. they called and said it was too ruff. looked at next day told owners that after the walls were primed with a high build primer that the roughness would go away. they didn't believe so we sanded walls. sanding drywall compound makes a big mess. that's why everything was covered. we told them we would respray texture the next day so they could be there to approve texture.i sent them a text that we would clean before spraying. with out giving us a chance to correct the owner told us to pick up our equipment that he threw out in his yard for anyone to steal. we agreed to correct any problems but never had the chance. we agreed on a 500 settlement. seems like everything is in their favor and we get bad mouthed. our company has been business for over 44 years that would never happen if what this customer says is true.jeff york

Jeff York advertises regularly in a neighborhood paper for painting, drywall, water damage and anything else he can think of. He has 30 years experience according to him. I needed about 20 feet of foundation brick tuckpointed and painted and a cedar deck treated. To make a long, long story short. The men doing the work pressure washed the deck and without allowing it to dry, put a coat of Sherwin Williams Wood Scape paint on it. Who does that?? Even I know you don't paint wet wood. The contract said 3 coats. There was only one coat on. Within 4 months the paint was peeling. I notified him of the problem and he left a message saying he'd look at it and finally that it would be taken care of. This is now 1 1/2 years later. The kicker is that Sherwin Williams told me Wood Scapes paint is not for walking on and Deck Scapes should have been used. Jeff York refuses to tell me how he plans to correct the problem and advised me that there is no warranty on the contract although he told me over the telephone that the job is guaranteed for 3 years. ,This man is inept, rude, unresponsive and not in the least business-like. I'm seeing an attorney in two days to sue for breach of contract. I would never ever hire this man to do anything!!! The men he subcontracted with stood with their mouths open when I told them how much Jeff York charged me. Apparently they did the work for much less.
Description of Work: I contracted with Jeff York and went to the site to see some Hispanic men just finishing the work.

hired to tuck point and paint house foundation. 2 houses on property 3 porches and decks to prep and paint. Sherwin Williams paint rep recommened woodsrapes product to use so we did. took 3 people 1 week plus materials to complete job. owner looked at work completed and okd and paid bill. next year she calls and says deck is peeling. I looked and agreed to redo deck even tho some of peeling was caused by snow shovel.before we had a chance to go back she started calling my house at 3:00 in the morning. she wanted different product used which we did.now she says the color isn't right afraid to put other coat on so she might change it again. all workers have worked for me for over 20 years and are my employees. and yes some are Hispanic. I thought this was a free country. jeff york
