Had radon system install as a contingent when I purchased the house. Install was on 10/14/20. On March 11,2021, a leak from a part they installed occurred. I contacted him and sent pictures and he did respond out and replaced the part. My basement carpet was damaged as a result of that leak. I ate the cost of replacing the carpet. On March 7th, 2023 another leak from a part they installed occurred. I contacted him and he stated that he wanted pictures and there was not way he could make it out today. When asked about the carpet damage again he stated "that's what insurance is for." I called my insurance and they wanted to know his insurance. I called him back and he refused to provide his insurance information and stated "sue the manufacturer of the part." He stated that he gets his parts from Menards. He refused to provide me any further information and stated that he will not return any further calls or messages from me. I also filed a BBB complaint. Just my experience.
Description of Work: Radon mitigation system installed, poor parts and installation caused leaks and damage to basement.

It went fine. We have no complaints. He's a professional to talk to, great at what he does and his pricing is so competitive, what he "lacks" is forgivable in my opinion.
Description of Work: My ratings above are based on comparing him to the best I have worked with and the worst I have worked with. That said: Gregg installed a Radon Mitigation system. This particular job required him to drill a hole in concrete and run PVC up and out the roof of the garage. He was done in two days and left the area clean and ready for the buyer's final walkthrough. Gregg has done work for us on two separate occasions installing radon mitigation to satisfy home sale contingencies. He does a professional job with fit and finish and for what he charges for high quality work, I hardly feel justified in complaining about him being "late" or losing my phone number. He is definitely a person that you must take the initiative with before, during and after the job, but he's worth the effort for the quality you get. Everyone is different and I don't mean to fault him in any way. We are happy with his work and would call him again.

This provider installed a radon abatement system for our house's previous owners. A leak developed in the pipes outside, creating an ice dam. We wanted to give the repair job to the company that did the original installation. Three separate times, he gave us "windows" of time when he could come, without ever giving us a specific date or time. He never showed up on any of those occasions or contacted us with an explanation or to schedule another time to come. During the three or four weeks we were trying to get him here, we sent emails (one with photos of the ice dam under the pipes, as he'd requested) and left voice mails. He never responded to any of these. The only time we spoke to him was when he happened to answer his phone. After the third no-show, my husband called him as a courtesy to let him know that we we were going to contact another provider to do the work. When he said we were disappointed with the lack of the responsiveness, the owner said that's how he does business and if we didn't like it, we should find someone else.

The overall work was successful. He arrived late due to a previous job and going to the wrong address, but continued to work until the job was done. He included a replacement pump due to the original being an above-crock type and not suited to radon mitigation. The new pump did not work exactly as designed due to the pump switch being of the floating bulb design. Our basement had water over most of the entire basement floor on Father's Day. The float switch did not activate as often as it should have because it was tethered to the housing and did not have an adequate range of motion. Customer eventually made an adjustment to increase the range of motion. Installer returned to adjust the float and offered to replace the pump with a different model at no charge to customer, but accompishing the replacement proved to be unsuccessful due to the inability to schedule the install. The installer did not want to set an appointment for the work, preferring to arrive at a time when he was in the area on another job. Since he would call during our work hours and say he could be at our house in 30 minutes or less, coordinating a time of mutual consent as such was never accomplished; customer eventually abandoned hope of getting the replacement pump installed and discontinued contacting installer.
Description of Work: Removed old sump pump and installed submersible sump pump and installed radon mitigation system.

Greg's son and installer (also named Greg) did a great job. They trouble shooted through some issues in getting the right place to vent the system into the garage, and cleaned up thoroughly and stayed until just after 7:00 pm to finish the job.
Description of Work: Installed a radon reduction/mitigation system to EPA standards; did not include the sump pump in this job, as the pump was already a submersible pump.

Gregg and his son, who helps him, were very efficient, quiet and tidy. The work took about 5 hours to complete. Gregg completely explained what he was doing and fully explained how a follow-up radon test kit which he left with me should be used and reported. The only negative was that he was 3 hours late for the appointment. He apologized but didn't really give a reason why he was late. This seems to be a pattern with him. I mentioned it when I contacted him originally. He does very nice work, but if hiring him I would specify a late morning start as he probably won't be there until then anyway. Not what you would call a 'morning'' person, I guess.
Description of Work: A hole was drilled in the basement floor and PVC pipe installed up the basement wall, into the garage, up the garage wall, and through the roof. In the garage is a fan that draws radon gas from the basement through the new PVC pipe to where it exits through the roof vent. A new sump pump and cover were installed, and almost the entire perimeter of the basement was sealed with caulk. Other basement floor cracks were also sealed with caulk.
