SERGENIAN'S FLOOR COVERINGS

I scheduled an appointment with an "experienced" installer. His first question was "are you replacing the existing cabinets?"  My answer was no, we want to leave them installed and replace the flooring up to the base, to which he replied, that's difficult, and I said  that's why I want to pay a professional to do it.  He then proceeded to measure all the while telling me things that would not look right when he got  done. When the quote arrived, it was for installation only, no removal of the existing ceramic tile. It was obvious from the quote that the installers were not interested in this job, and their business is good enough to be able to pick and choose the easy jobs, however, a simple phone call telling me they were not interested would have sufficed. I had Bisbee's Flooring in Sun Prairie quote the job.  No Problem!  They completed the demolition and installation beautifully of our Asian Walnut floor.  They did such a great job, we had them come back and install new carpeting elsewhere in the house.

Sergenian's is great to work with. Carman, the Sergenian's Interior Designer with whom we worked, is fantastic -- she's honest, helpful, and responsive in person and via email or phone. This was our second time using Sergenian's, and I'm sure it won't be our last.
The quality of the flooring they sell is fantastic, and runs the gamut of price ranges. They usually have sales and specials going (both on carpet and installation), so make sure to ask about those.
Everything was installed on time and as ordered.

The carpet layers were very efficient and polite.  Did the job quickly and correctly.

We highly reccommend Sergenian's. The sales representative was very very helpful. The installers were very professional. They arrived on time and spent the first day moving appliances and removing the old flooring. They installed the underlayment and tile on the second day. Spent the third day installing grout and came back on the fourth day to move appliances after the grout had cured. The quality of the work is superior, and the final result is an excellent floor.

The buying process went very well and they were able to get the carpet installed very quickly as we were preparing to put our house up for sale. However, after the installation was complete it all kind of fell apart. The employee showed me the rooms and new carpet and I noticed that the bi-fold closet doors were sitting off to the side of one of the bedrooms and off the track. He casually mentioned, and quot;I couldn't get them back on so you will have to cut them down about an inch or so...and quot; I replied that I have no means to and quot;cut them downand quot; without having a saw. He said he would contact Sergenians and and quot;get it figured out.and quot; Of course, no one contacted me back so after a few days, I called the salesman we dealt with for the purchase (who had been so nice before). He was very quick to tell me that it was the homeowners responsibility to deal with any doors or molding that no longer fit with carpet installation. This was NEVER mentioned to my husband or I during the sale or installation scheduling. I told him that if this would have been discussed with us, we would have made arrangements to take care of this the same day as the installation instead of then having to wait for an appointment with a wood working company. He just continually replied and quot;well it was in the packet we gave you...and quot; He never apologized or offered to take care of this, since they had been negligent in even telling us about that possibility. The packet they gave us had about 100 pieces of paper in it and a TON of information. Something like this should be discussed at the sale and scheduling.
We then had to call a special woodworking company to come cut the doors down but when he got there, one of the pieces from the door was missing (probably underneath the newly installed carpet) so it couldn't be put back on the tracks right away. Needless to say, after waiting for a woodworking company appointment, 2 trips to Menards to get the right piece for the door, and an additional $100 charge, the doors were finally put back in place.
We felt like the job was not actually completed and were VERY frustrated with their response, or lackthereof. For $100, Sergenians lost us as customers forever.

I worked with Tom in the salesroom. When I told him I was preparing my house to sell, he immediately brought me back to their in-stock selection, which was much appreciated. He didn't try to sell me anything fancy. He gave me a quote and scheduled someone to measure.
After the measuring, Tom called me with an install date. It didn't work with my schedule and he said he'd call back. He didn't. Instead, I got a call to confirm the install date, and Gretchen at their office was very kind and found a better time to install. They confirmed prior to coming out.
The day of, Gretchen called to tell me that the installer's morning appointment had cancelled, so she wanted to know if I could move my mid-day installation time up to the first install. I didn't have an issue with it, so they got started at 8. Within 1/2 hour, everything had been moved out and the old carpet had been removed. They reviewed the options for the transition to wood floor and their recommendation looks great!
They finished in about 2.5 hours (approx. 275 sf). The installers are subcontractors - they don't work directly for Sergenian's - but I knew that ahead of time. They were quick, kind, and helpful. The finished product looks great!

Met with Vic, who did a great job helping us sort through the options. Gave us a quote and install date and followed through just as promised. Installer was here the day that had been arranged and was done with the install before the end of the day.

We had a wonderful experience with Sergenian's from the time we worked with Scott, in the showroom, to select our carpet to the final installation with Al and his helper.
Scott was very helpful and answered all our questions in the showroom. We have pets and needed carpeting that would hold up in our home, Scott pointed us in the right direction. We brought several color samples home in one design and one that caught our eye in the showroom. After viewing the samples in several areas of the house, we decided on the and quot;eye catcherand quot;. It was great to have a variety to choose from.
Al and company, arrived within the scheduled time and got right to work moving furniture into the living room. I needed to work on my computer and they met my need to keep the router hooked up by removing the carpet around the area until later in the day! They removed the old carpet and pad and swept the floor before laying the new pad and carpet. They both were very efficient and professional.
They did an excellent job laying the carpet and the seams are hard to find. The stairs turned out beautiful! My only suggestion to folks having steps done - is to make sure things are covered in plastic under the stairs. There was a lot of residue that fell through the cracks from removing the old carpet.
We are very happy with our new carpet and the job well done.

To say that I am disappointed is a minium comment!
The lack of taking the padding all the way to a doorway is incompentant.  In addition, a dresser that was removd from the room for installation came back in where the two cabinet drawers would not connect as the magnet for closure was broken.
Mold was found on one wall after installation yet NOTHING was told to the owner about the problem.  The carpeting was installed although the trim boardss were very warped due to the mold problem.............
All in all I would NEVER recommend Sergenians for any future work in either carpeting.   Previously, in 2009, they did an excellent job on  ceramic flooring installation.

Our salesman, Scott W. was very helpful in bettering the best reputable price we had found and beat it by about $300.00. We had specifically asked Scott whether Sargenians used sub-contractors or their own staff to install the carpets. We were assured they used their own employees. On the install date two men, one older, one younger, arrived around 8:30 am to do the work. We found out they were subcontractors even though we had been specifcally told Sargenians did not use subcontractors. This caused some problems like we had tried to arrange with Sargenians the day before to let them know we needed to have a large bedframe removed from the master bedroom and placed in the garage for the charity truck that was coming to get it. When we informed the installers that we had cleared this with Sargenians they were rather miffed that they had to help move this piece of furniture even tho they would have had to move it out of the room anyway to install the carpet. The two men continued about their work all day, working efficiently. I stayed home during the install and the older fellow was quite gruff so I tried to stay out of his way even while he was moving all of my furniture. The younger fellow was very nice. At extactly 4pm they were done and basically couldn't get out of the house fast enough. They did not do a walk through with us to make sure everything was installed correctly. The next day we noticed a few errors and called Sargenians to report them. It took almost 2 weeks for our calls to be returned. They finally sent out someone to fix the errors but it was like pulling teeth to get this done.

That has always been a good experience. Their professionalism, the timeliness, the people who came to put the floor in. It was just a good experience so I would give them several stars for good. It was a very positive experience , there were responsive, they listened to us, great prices great sales, it was overall a nice experience, not stressful.

Everything went quite well. They had a good product. They were timely. They did what they said they were going to do. The installation went quite well. We were real positive about their timeliness and quality of their product. They are a little bit higher than most but they have good quality products.

On time good work

They came on time. Their responsiveness was good and professionalism was fine. The estimated price was somewhere between high and reasonable. They sell expensive carpets, so the carpet itself is expensive. The installation was similar in cost to other estimates. I am going to have them come do some work for me, but they have not done it yet.

After visiting several carpeting stores I decided on Sergenians because of their initial acknowledgement and willingness to show me carpeting that might meet my needs. My contact Erin was always helpful while giving me time and freedom to browse.

Carpet was chosen and ordered after multiple visits to the showroom.

Carpet arrived and installation was scheduled. When the installers (they were great) were half way through installing it was discovered that the two pieces of carpet did not match. The installer immediately called the store to inform them. Sergenians authorized the installer to continue installing the carpet and ordered new carpeting to be installed as soon as the new could be obtained. Although this was a terrible inconvenience for us, I believe it was handled as well as could be.

The second carpet arrived and was installed with no further problems.

I was very pleased with the service and installation from Sergenians. I would recommend them and Erin to anyone looking for flooring or carpet.

I did not spend anything on it because it was an insurance claim, but it was a couple of $1000. They had to pull out old tile and had to hire a sub-contractor to do that. They had to put carpet and padding in. I would never use them again because they hired a company that removed asbestos in ways that contaminated my entire downstairs. It took me months to deal with them and I had to get an attorney. They ruined all my paneling and my family had to live outside of my downstairs where my home office is, one of the bathrooms and a utility room for months while we argued and waited for them to deal with it in a proper way. I would never ever use them again. I am an environmental toxicologist and I have a PhD and a Master's degree in toxicology and I consult on environment hazards. As I was documenting the absolutely illegal approach that their sub-contractors did when they hired non-English speaking Hispanic workers who were at risk with no protective equipment pulling up asbestos tile out of my basement and family room. I took pictures that day and started and it was a year to get that thing taken care of. I was disrupted for months and months. What I did not do was go to Angies List and find out and I showed although they had a good reputation and they have been around for a long time. When I selected them, I assumed that they were going to be good. I had another professional inspector come and inspect it and the first thing he said was Oh my God. They tried to convince me that the petroleum solvent, the same stuff they broke up the BP oil spill with that had soaked in some cases up to a foot into my paneling was safe for my family to be in, it was unbelievable. We signed off on everything, but they still haven't sent me $300 that they supposedly owe me, but I am ready to forget it because it frustrating and I don't have time to deal with that.

I've used them before and I have always been pleased with their customer service.

It went very well especially the installation and they did a great job moving my furniture and putting everything back.

They were wonderful. We started working with them for a couple of months. They were very accommodating. It is a family business. We could tell they really enjoyed selling their product. They sent rugs home with us to try in our house. It was just such a good experience. We thought they were really a good company. They have a lot of styles to choose from. They will order if they don't have the size you want. They go out of their way to get what you want. Our house is about 1 1/2 years old and they had done a lot of work on our house and they were able to tell us about our house because we didn't have prior information about it. They know their business.

I had my plumber come in and lift the toilet in anticipation of the work. The vinyl I chose was on back-order so caused a delay. As soon as it came in, Sergenian's fit my job into their schedule and completed the entire job in one morning.

They have come out twice. I've hired them for 2 different jobs. They are excellent. They are on time. They are very easy to work with. They do an excellent job. The flooring was installed very well. The person that I was dealing with in the store was very efficient doing the bids and getting me the information and communicating through e-mails. They were very flexible when I had to change the time for the installation as I was trying to coordinate that with some plumbing work in the bathroom. I would definitely use them again in the future.

They were fair about things, but we had to get into their management to have the situation corrected because the salesperson was not as helpful as the manager. They bent over backwards to correct the situation and make me happy.

They were quick in getting the carpet installed within three weeks. They had people coming and ding the work for two days. They were able to move my furniture around. I would use them in the future.

My only complaint is that the sale person was a little scattered. He had assumed we had seen all of the sample pertaining to what we wanted. It took another salesperson to come over and pull something out and we said "perfect". Our salesperson was nice and tried to be helpful, but really was just a average on answering my questions overall. Otherwise, they are on their game there and everything went off in the time they said it would.
