Northside Electric

I contacted Mark at Northside Electric about an electric service upgrade. He came within a day or two and provided an estimate. I followed up with phone calls and e-mails and received little or no response. The two times he did respond, he led me to believe that things were on track and the job would be proceeding on schedule. I then had a major power problem and contacted him by phone and he never responded back. I then contacted another contractor who responded almost immediately. Although friendly and seemingly responsive on the estimate contact, Mark was virtually non responsive after that.

The first day he spent 3 hours and 90m minutes on the second day to resolve our issues.
All in all he has done great job with a great attitude.

Great experience. Would recommend Northside Electric to anyone. He also inspected other areas of my home and showed me some items he would suggest changing. Very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous.

I emailed Mark through Angie's List and he didn't respond. I called him three days later (he apologized for not answering the email) and we set up a time on a Saturday for him to see the job. On that Saturday, he didn't show up. I called him 45 min after our scheduled time and he had forgotten about the appt. But he was able to come over that day. He came over and spent about an hour talking with me about the job. He was very nice and I got a good vibe from him about what type of work he would be doing. He said he would email me the estimate that upcoming week. That week ... nothing. I emailed him and have still received no response (it's been two weeks now).

Updated ... Got an estimate two days after I originally wrote this report. The price quoted was average - $1000-1300 with a couple options based on my ultimate decisions. I'm not sure I'll be using this company, still looking at options.

I found them on Angie's List. I am not really sure about the price. It is strange that they did the work in November and they haven't invoiced me for it. I have no idea what they are going to charge me. They were really fast and really professional. The only thing that has been lacking has been the follow-up with regard to the service and the settling of the invoice.

Great experience overall. I called on a Thursday and was able to schedule for the following Monday. Mark was very friendly and responsive on the phone. Chad showed up right around the scheduled time. He completed the work in under two hours and was very responsive to my questions. The price was less than I expected. I will definitely use these guys for my future electrical needs.

Mark was very responsive to our initial call - we scheduled him to come out to our condo building and see the work we needed done. I spent about an hour showing him the building and explaining our needs. He was very polite and said the work looked manageable. Then we never heard from him - not a bid, not a call, nothing. I followed up by phone three times and by email twice. Six weeks went by with no response! When I called and he answered the phone, I told him we needed the bid that day or we would find someone else. He promised it by end of day and again, never sent anything. Such a disappointment and a huge waste of our time. He's clearly very unorganized and does not have a system for tracking work. Each time I called in, I had to give my name, phone number and email because they could never find it in their 'files'. Get a computer and get with the program!

I must say that Mark and Chad were absolutely fantastic. Mark has a very upbeat, outgoing personality so it was actually fun to have them here to work on this project. Everything was done exactly as contracted plus a few extra things were thrown in. I was very impressed with their knowledge and skill-they clearly know their stuff. If I recall correctly, It took them about 2 1/2 days (spaced apart) to complete everything.

Got a great vibe starting from the estimate. He gave me several options - from very inexpensive to quite expensive - and then proceeded to explain why I probably wanted to go with with the most inexpensive option. I loved having a set of options and some information to actually make a choice. On top of that, the quoted prices were much better than the other two estimates I received. From my understanding the work done was pretty standard and uncomplicated. That said, the work was completed promptly and to specification. I was able to plan for a half day of installation and actually have the installation take up only that scheduled half day. I was very satisfied with my experience and will most certainly look to Northside for future projects.

EXCELLENT! Northside was the highest rated on Angies List and I got bids from the top three rated electricians. Northside came in the least expensive and their service was fabulous. Mark explained some of the complications with knob and tube and made recommendations for future work, but no hard sell. I highly recommend them.

Mark and his team did an excellent job--they replaced our old, scary 1927 knob and tube wiring and replaced a few light fixtures. We were kept updated through the whole process, and they were careful to make as few new holes as they could manage. They cleaned up after themselves, and didn't mind our old friendly dog on the occasions when he got curious and visited them. I will absolutely call Northside again for any electrical work we may need in the future.

I called on a Friday afternoon. We made an appointment for Monday morning. Mark appeared on time. He worked rapidly and efficiently. He also explained exactly what he was doing as he worked.

Service was excellent. The guys took time to explain me the different options as well as the different scenarios that could happen while performing the work. The came right in at where they quoted the job. They took the time to clean up after being done. Excellent work!

They provided a free estimate and explained what the work would be. They arrived on time and didn't take any longer than needed. The work was scheduled a couple weeks out and they arrived right on time. They estimated the power wold be off for between 4 and 5 hours and got it back on in 3.5 hours. They were very efficient and gave me warnings about when the power would be going off and when it was back on. They did a good job of cleaning up the work area when done.

Last visit was the fourth time we worked with Mark and Chad - they are great to work with: great technical knowledge, professional and genuinely nice guys. I highly recommend them to anyone having electrical issues.

All staff were very courteous and friendly. Very promt response from initial request for a bid to scheduling return visits to fit our schedule over an approximately six week kitchen remodel project. Staff were careful and cleaned up any debris. We were very happy with the work completed.

We had a time crunch due to impending house sale closing and work was performed promptly to meet house inspection contingency.

Mark was an incredible help in finishing a project that a handyman left undone. Beyond being professional, taking the time to educate us on the project and being - simply- a "good guy"...he called to share he would be 5 minutes late AND came to help restore light to our kitchen on Christmas Eve morning. We were so delighted with his customer service and attention to detail that we asked him to come back for another project this week of New Years which was finished in a brisk 3 hours at a very reasonable rate. I wish we could hire Mark for EVERYTHING. Now.. what else needs electricity work?

Went great! Came promptly at 7:00 and was done in less than a 1/2 hour. Very courtious and professional.

It’s a small operation with just two people. One person did all the work while the other, who I think is the owner, came later, and they worked together for a short time. They were capable and very friendly, and cleaned up very well afterwards. Everything works fine. I am very happy with them.

Mr, Blankenship was personable and professional. He left saying that he would prepare an estimate and get it to me in a few days. I never heard another word. I left several messages on his answering machine and, finally, wrote to him asking that he contact me. I have never gotten a response.
